This is just a little drabble - a few words cobbled together from an idea that came to me this morning.
I don't own Marvel, or Tony, or Pepper...as much as I wish that I did... :)

The public across the world are fascinated by Tony Stark - billionaire. Eccentric, genius, generous to a fault, always launching some amazing new invention or other and continuing his fathers' vision of the future. It's the oldest cliché in the book, but the men want to be him and the women want to be with him…..
The government and the armed forces, despite their initial reservations, have had to grudgingly admit they admire and respect Tony Stark - Iron Man. So, it's typical of his conceit to announce he has brought world peace…but he has a point. The bad guys are a little more cautious when they know their deeds are being tracked by Stark's technology - they watch the skies with fear for the flash of red and gold which precedes hell being unleashed upon them. Maybe 'peace' is an exaggeration, but the world is, undeniably a safer place….
The press adore Tony Stark - news story. It never ends. They learned long ago that if you want the big scoop, just tail Tony for a few hours. Since he was a young MIT graduate, he has fascinated the world with his extraordinary life….they have only to fill their pages with Tony to be guaranteed sales. He is their golden goose….
And Pepper….? The Tony Stark that Pepper adores is the one only she sees. The man with a smudge of oil across his cheek, wearing a torn and filthy vest, who flashes her a grin as he tosses breakfast pancakes. The man who drives her to distraction but can make her smile with just one glance - who touches her shoulder briefly at a gala and sets her heart racing. The man who has laughed and cried with her - who forgets her birthday but remembers her favourite song and sings it to her when sleep eludes her. The man who holds her close and makes her life worth living. It doesn't matter that she will forever have to share him with the world….this is her Tony…..
