Out of the Darkness and into the Light
What happened to us?
We were happy together,
And we glowed with the power of our love.
But now,
Now we are separated?
Now I am lost and dull.
When you left, you took your light with you
And I was left here.
Darkness appeared,
When your light went away.
Darkness stayed,
Because I was not strong.
Darkness filled me,
Till I was but a shell.
I was not a girl,
Nor a woman, nor human.
I was a thing,
To be used as a tool.
A tool of evil, and dark.
I saw you,
When I was covered in dark.
And you talked to me,
It was amazing.
The darkness receded,
And I was filled with light.
But you did not stay for long,
And I was covered again.
I hurt the ones we love.
I lost the trust of our friends.
So… I pushed out the dark.
But… I was still a shell,
A vessel, a husk.
And then I saw you again.
You filled this empty shell with light.
You brought me out of the darkness.
Leading, guiding, loving.
You found me,
When I was lost.
You healed me, when I was wounded.
You loved me, when I was hated.
Your smile could light the world.
Your laugh could chase the darkness.
And….
You love could heal my broken shell
And make me whole.
So we were one again.
We glow with our love,
And…
I am happy again,
After months of darkness.
You brought me into the light,
And I love you for it.
