Fairy Tail 334.5

I don't want to die I can't die, not yet, but

Pain ripped through my whole body as the beam passed through my chest. Blood escaped my mouth. It was becoming hard to breathe. Before I could catch my breath, several more beams pierced my body. "Heh…?" a thousand thoughts flashed through my mind. At last, from a side glimpse, I saw it… a bright beam… aiming directly for my head… in a split second, I fell onto the ground with a soft 'poof', unconscious and unaware of my surroundings for any longer. "GRAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!"

Who's that, calling out my name? She's really loud…

I heard many cries and roars from my surroundings. I wonder, why is it so noisy…? I mean, sure, Fairy Tail's always noisy, but the atmosphere is completely different… I couldn't remember what I was doing before that. Where am I? I can't open my eyes. Why? I tried to move my body. Nothing happened. …? Something hit me. Something warm. "Gray-sama! Please, open up your eyes! GRAY-SAMA!" it was a nostalgic voice. But I wonder who is it? Why is she calling out my name? Somehow, it's gotten really comfortable, this nap… I don't want to wake up. Ever.

"What are you doing lying there like a pathetic mage you are, huh, Gray?" a figure appeared in front of me out of the blue. It was a man, a man with the mark of Fairy Tail on his right shoulder. Natsu… I wanted to make a comeback, but no sound escaped my throat. "Are these puny wounds enough to kill you!? How are we supposed to protect our family this way!?" I didn't understand what he was talking about. "Oi! Don't you dare die on me, you hear!? We still haven't settled our fight!" just then, something huge snatched him away right in front of me. It had huge wings, and it roared just like what I heard earlier. "Damned dragons… Fire Dragon's Breath!" Natsu completely disappeared from my view. Reality stroke as the pain from earlier returned. I struggled for air. Now I knew what was holding me down; it was those wounds… and the person holding me… Juvia. She was safe but in tears, crying out my name over and over again. Meredy was, too, struggling to hold back her tears. Everyone was fighting against the dragons… especially Natsu…

Dammit! I cursed myself. Why! Why are these wounds keeping me from protecting!? Everything around me suddenly vanished. I was standing in complete darkness, all alone. It wasn't hard to breathe anymore. "Gray." Shocked, I turned to face Ur, my teacher. "Ur…!?" she had a pained expression. "Gray. It's painful, isn't it?" she walked towards me and gently caressed my cheek. "Look at you, all covered in wounds in order to protect what's dear to you…" for a moment, Juvia ran through my mind. Ur softly chuckled. "You've found your certain someone, haven't you? One you'd sacrifice your life in order to protect…" I knew it wasn't the right moment, but I blushed and my eyes went downcast. "Gray. You have to choose." Her tone suddenly became grave and serious. "Do you want to continue, or are you going to give up right now and here?"

My surroundings lit up. It was a mountain with a busy waterfall and birds chirping. It's the mountain where Ur taught me and Lyon… "If you give up, we can resume our training together again. If you want to continue, you have to bear with all the wounds you've suffered… you may never be who you were again even after they recover." Why is she making me choose!? I gritted my teeth as my heart thumped hard against my chest. To choose between my sensei and my family… I… I…!

I don't know…
