It was an extremely stormy day. Rain came rushing down like cats and dogs, with flashes of lightning and crashes of thunder to follow. Simon and Jeanette decided to spend the rainy afternoon indoors, and wanted to watch a movie together. So, that's exactly what they did.

When they chose a movie though, they chose something a little bit different what they would normally pick. Usually, the couple would choose something like a Sci-Fi film, a scientific documentary, and even the occasional romantic comedy. But today, they chose a horror flick. Soon enough though, they ended up regretting it.

The movie was about a ghost who goes into houses by night, and takes out other people's souls. The graphics seemed so real, and the movie itself sure sent chills down Simon and Jeanette's spines! They held each other tightly through each frightening scene, which was most of the movie.

When the credits rolled over the screen, Simon popped the disc out of the DVD player and put it back in the case. Then, he and Jeanette ran up the stairs and locked the door to his room, and sat on the floor.

"Wow….I never want to watch that movie again," Jeanette said, "it was really creepy!"

"Indeed!" Simon agreed.

"Boy, I hope a ghost never comes near me!" Jeanette pleaded. "Could it be possible, Simon?"

"Oh, come on Jeanette," Simon spoke, "ghosts are not real. It could not be possible that souls of the dead can come alive. Am I right?"

"Well...I guess so…" Jeanette replied. She was still kind of unsure about the topic about ghosts.

"Trust me, Jeanette," Simon whispered as he slowly hugged Jeanette. The chipette sighed in a loving way and snuggled onto Simon's shoulder.

Boom! A loud strike of thunder crashed, with a bright flash of lighting parading after it. The lights in the house started to flicker, then they went off completely! The house was pitch black as a dark hole, and nothing could be seen. This scared Simon and Jeanette, because it reminded them too much about the scary film they had just seen. As soon as the power went out, they jumped into the beds and hid in the Chipmunk's dark room. Simon went into his, and Jeanette went into Alvin's.

After a few minutes of hiding, Simon felt silly for being scared. He knew a ghost wouldn't come after him, like in the movie. So, he popped up from his bed, with a sheet covering his face. He wanted to check if Jeanette was alright, so he got out of bed and started to tiptoe over to the other.

As he was on his way, something was blocking halfway to his destination. His bespectacled eyes could make out that something was a tall figure covered in a sheet. He was puzzled. Could this distraction be a ghost?

After a good minute of mental arguing, he just decided that the certain figure was a ghost that was going for his soul! He screamed and ran around the room, and surprisingly, the ghost was too!

However, the "ghost" was actually just the sweet, innocent Jeanette. She was also frightened when she saw Simon wearing a sheet. The scared silly couple still ran around, until they crashed into each other. At the moment, the lights also came on as well.

When Simon and Jeanette collided, the sheets came flying off their bodies. The chipmunks fixed their glasses and looked into the other's eyes, then at the sheets lying there on the floor. They realized that they were just afraid of each other, and not a ghost!

Just at the thought of this, Simon and Jeanette started cracking up laughing. They thought their little misunderstanding was just so ridiculous! They ended up calming down after multiple minutes of laughing, and took a relieving breath.

"I'm sorry Jeanette," Simon apologized, "I didn't mean to think that you were a ghost!"

"Right back to you," Jeanette replied. They hugged and went back to normal things soon after.
