Kero was happily lazing on Sakura's desk, when he heard voices approaching. Him again! Panicking, since Touya had nearly figured out the other day that Kero was not the little kid's toy he pretended to be, he flew into the top drawer of Sakura's desk. Somehow, without even knowing how he managed to do it, Kero had not only shut the drawer behind him, but he locked it as well, effectively trapping him until Sakura came home from school.

All the pint-sized guardian beast could think of was escaping from his "prison." The sweet, tasty, mouthwatering thoughts about cake, that minutes ago danced in his head, were gone. He could hear the faint echo of Clow Reed's laughter and his voice telling him this was even funnier than the time the humorless Yue, got his fingers stuck in a Chinese finger puzzle. Mentally telling his former master to shut up, Kero had a look through the lock's keyhole. Nothing in his limit field of vision seemed amiss, which was good, and he was about to breathe a sigh of relief when he spotted her clock.

"No!" Kero groaned. It was only eleven o'clock; it would be hours before his beloved Clow Mistress returned home from school. He would die of hunger long before he was rescued, and the thought was not a happy one. Sighing softly, Kero settled down on the soft pair of mittens Tomoyo had given Sakura for Christmas, and fell asleep.

"Kero-chan! Oh, Kero-chan! Where are you?" Sakura said as she frantically searched her room.

"I'm in here!" Kero cried, instantly awake at the sound of her voice. A few minutes later, Sakura had found him, setting Kero free, which had the pint-sized guardian beast happier than the time she made him a cake just for fun…
