Jakotsu opened his eyes; he was hurting all over, especially his head. As his vision slowly came into focus, he noted he was flat on his back, looking skyward. Overhead was a flock of crows, which was to be expected since he was on a battlefield, or rather what was left of one. The battle that once raged must have moved on since it sounded far away.
Rolling onto his side, Jakotsu slowly pushed himself upright into a seated position, instantly regretting it. His head swam as wave of dizziness washed over him. Leaning forward, he rested his arms on his knees while he willed himself not to throw up. Sui, where are you when I need you…? he thought miserably. He looked up when a crow landed in front of him. The cold hand of fear gripped his heart. Where the hell is Aniki-chan…? Jakotsu looked around wildly, making his swim again.
Another crow joined the first. They looked at the fey mercenary as if willing him to die, but Jakotsu was made of sterner stuff. He shook the Jakotsutou at them and it was enough to send them flying. Gathering the remnants of his strength, the cross-dresser painfully hauled himself to his feet. Closing his eyes as another wave of nausea washed over him, Jakotsu waited a few heartbeats to get his bearings. Spotting what looked like a large mass of black, he staggered off in the direction of it, as worry about his fallen companions, especially his lover, Bankotsu, had him fearing the worst. I'm coming, Aniki-chan…
Far in the distance, Bankotsu was also searching the battlefield for his missing paramour. He and Jakotsu had fought side by side for most of the day, only to be separated as the battle moved on. He hurried back in the direction he had come from, not liking the crows that circled, only to land en mass. They usually do that when they find fresh meat… Sweetness! Fearing for his paramour's life, Bankotsu hurried across the empty battlefield. Like Jakotsu, he was drawn to the sounds of the dying, moving on when he realized his beloved was not the poor unfortunate samurai, whose life was slowly ebbing away.
They found each other by pure chance. Jakotsu, dizzy from his head wound, fell to his knees. "Aniki-chan…" he said softly, his expression brightening.
"Sweetness!" Bankotsu rushed towards him. He held onto Jakotsu, quickly looking him over, just to make sure he was reasonably okay. Thankful that the cross-dresser would survive, Bankotsu pulled him close again.
"Not now, Aniki-chan… my head hurts…"
Bankotsu laughed. "Only you!"
"What…?"
"Only you would think about nookie. I was just holding you, cuz I thought I had lost you." The young leader of the Shichinintai shook his head. "You thought I wanted nookie?"
"Yeah…" Jakotsu gave him what he hoped was a saucy smile.
"Silly thing…"
Jakotsu laughed, and in that instant, Bankotsu knew he would be fine in a few days and asking for nookie…
