They say in your dying moments you can see your life flashing before your eyes. They are wrong. I don't see that which was, I only see that which will never come to be ; moments I will never get to cherish, thoughts I will never think, feelings I will never feel smiles I will never cause and tears that will never be shed.
A scene unfolds.
I see Suzaku smiling. He is once again teasing me. I, for the life of me, cannot do physical work and he takes every opportunity to tell me that. We are trying to play tennis. Trying on my part and playing on his. The ball zooms past and I am unable to make contact with it. He tells me to man up and I tell him to keep up the attitude in chess. He simply laughs and once again a ball zooms past me.
The scene shifts and I see Nunnaly.
She is sitting by the fire with her origami swan. She tells me to sit by her and I do. We talk of old times and my funny antics. We talk about rainbows and birds. She tells me that her greatest wish is not to regain her sight but to be with me always. I tear up a little bit. She catches my hand and tells me it's not my fault. She then asks me to read a book and I do.
The scene once again shifts and I am in the student council room. The Prez is organising something crazy. I try to tune her out. She quickly grabs my hand and asks me if I am okay with it. Whatever it is, I quickly say yes. I have no idea what I have gotten myself into. She gets an evil glint in her eyes. I think she knows I wasn't paying attention. She pulls me out and we go searching for someone. We spot Shirley . I try to pull away understanding what was happening. But it was too late. The Prez tells her that I had agreed to go with her to the Art Fest. She seems delighted and I don't have the heart to say no.
So now I find myself at the Art Fest holding Shirley's hands. I find it boring. But Shirley seems to be enjoying herself and that makes me happy somehow. She asks me if I like a piece and I tell her I do. She laughs at me and tells me about it. The piece is supposed to signify eternal love. Love that is so pure that it has no boundaries, not even death. I may not know how to appreciate art but I think I like this piece too.
The colours blur around me and I find myself with CC. She is lying on my bed eating Pizza. She asks me if I want one. I decline. She tells me that I look different. I tell her that I am feeling happy and peaceful. She smiles. She keeps looking at me. I ask her to stop and she just smiles and goes back to her pizza.
This time the colours darken around me and I am somewhere underground. Someone calls out to me. It's Kallen. She tells me we should celebrate. I don't know what for, but I agree. She brings out some alcohol. I tell her that we are still under age. She simply laughs at me and pours me a glass. She says that if I weren't Zero she would hate me because I complained too much. I scoff at her and we continue drinking.
The setting shifts one last time.
I find myself in the roof top garden. All of the student council members are present. They are all laughing and talking. Then the Prez asks Rivalz to bring out the fireworks. We light them and the sky is filled with colours. We look at it and Shirley suddenly screams out that it was photo time. So we all stand together and wait for the camera.
