"You are so dumb." Leah's voice cuts through the air like a laser.

"I-I'm sorry. Wh-what?" She stumbles over her words almost as much as she stumbles over rocks. And sticks. And her own damn feet.

"You heard me." Her eyes are as sharp as her voice. They make Bella shiver uncomfortably. "You can't keep running away. Make a damn decision already. Stop stringing Jacob along; you're only hurting him." Bella winces. Those words scald when spoken aloud.

"I-I don't mean to hurt him, but—"

"Goddammit, you idiot! Just stop! You are hurting him, Bella. You are. You need to stop before you kill him." Leah's fists clench tightly, small crescent moons of blood briefly blossoming on her palms. Her eyes clothes tightly, and she breathes deeply, trying to regain her control.

Bella just stares at her feet, ashamed.

"Let him go. Let him go so I can fix him." Bella's head snaps up. Leah's eyes have opened, and there's so much, so much in them that Bella can't stand to look at her. "Let me fix him the way he fixed you before you destroyed him."

Bella knows Leah can love him. So she finally lets him go.
