A/N: A short chapter to see if anyone is interested.
This is going to be different from the Hermione-gets-pregnant-during-a-one-night-stand-and-it-forces-her-and-Draco-together stories; they are already a serious couple, and the pregnancy tests their relationship and makes Hermione wonder if they are truly meant to be together…
Ours - Chapter One
Denial is Good
"You know what, Gin, this really isn't necessary, I mean, there's no way, we're just overreacting," the older girl babbled.
"You said you haven't had your period for eight weeks, right?"
"Yes, but that's not that unusual. Sometimes I get it late…"
"Late, yes, not missing completely. And you've had morning sickness," the redhead pointed out.
Hermione glanced around as if afraid someone else was hiding in the bathroom.
"I have not had morning sickness, I have just had sickness which happens to be in the morning. It might be sleep indigestion or som -" she protested, but was cut off by her friend's blunt command.
"Hermione, just pee on the fucking stick."

Hermione was not physically capable of opening her eyes and looking at the results. It felt as if her whole body had seized up; even her shoulders were hunched. Her heart beat hard against her ribs, her eyes were screwed up and her forehead crumpled. If she never looked, she'd never know, and it could never happen.
She'd battled Voldemort without even considering fleeing, she'd been petrified by a basilisk and tied underwater and guarded by mermaids, played deadly chess and been tortured by Bellatrix, but throughout all of that, she'd never lost courage.
Well, now she had; Hermione Granger wanted to run away - but this wasn't the sort of problem you could out-run.
"Hermione."
"Yeah?" Her voice was high-pitched and fluttery and her throat felt like it might close up.
"It won't go away."
Hermione opened one eye to glare at her friend.
"Real words of comfort there, Gin."
And now that she could see, it was as if there was a magnetic pull that forced her gaze downwards, to the innocent looking white stick in her hand.
The bushy-haired girl grabbed the instructions leaflet from the sideboard and opened it with fumbling figures. And in innocent looking print, her worst fears were confirmed.
Ginny grinned quite convincingly,
"Congratulations?"
"This doesn't mean anything," the force of her own voice startled Hermione and she continued with less conviction. "They're wrong, sometimes. You have to go to a healer to get a proper result."
The redhead placed a reassuring hand on Hermione's arm.
"I think it would be best if we did that straight away, don't you? I'm sure Madame Pomfrey will understand -"
"We can't go to Madame Pomfrey!"
"Why not?"
"She's at school, people will find out. Oh God, they're all going to think I'm so irresponsible…"
"'Mione, no one will think that! You're both of age, you're both nearly done with school, it's not like he's lacking money, he loves you, you love him… You do love him, don't you?"
"I…um…yeah…I…yeah, I think so."
"Hermione?!"
The older girl shook her head sharply.
"Yeah, yeah, of course I do; I love him."
Ginny took Hermione's hand and smiled at her nervous friend.
"It'll be fine, 'Mione. Mum'll be pleased!"
Hermione managed a short laugh.
A/N: You have to review if you want me to continue :D
So that you know:
It is early March of Hermione (she went back to finish school after the war) and Ginny's last year.
There is a magical pregnancy test that Healers can do, but everyone else must use Muggle-style tests, in case they do the magic wrong and hurt the baby or woman.
There is a contraception spell, but it is like the Muggle Pill; effective 99 percent of the time…
