On the Outside
One-Shot.
From the outside we've been perfect. We were the family in this small little town that's been together forever through the grace of God and love. We've stuck together through thick and thin. There was no way possible that anything about family could be imperfect. We had everything. We were the perfect family in this small little town from the view of all the people around us. We were Tish, Robby, Miley and Noah.
But, if they had looked at us from the inside, their view would have been completely different. They wouldn't have been as shocked when news got around town that our family, our perfect little family, was no longer so perfect. Our perfect little family had been ripped apart into a thousand tiny pieces. We were officially the talk of the town.
When you become the talk of the town in such a small town it's obvious that you're the one everyone's gossiping about. You go into the local grocery store to pick up a gallon of milk and you've had at least five people staring a hole straight through you before you even get to the cash register. You look up from the papers you've been holding in the classroom or your desk at work and you're met by multiple people's eyes. They don't even try to hide the fact that they're talking about you, they don't care.
They don't care that maybe, just maybe the night before you cried your eyes out because of everything that is going on. They don't have the common courtesy to put themselves in your position, and realize that if they were going through this that they would have cried the night before.
They don't care that you're staring down at your feet when you walk through the hallway, just so you can avoid multiple stares. Multiple stares lead to fake smiles, and they know this, but they don't care because right now all they're worried about is getting the latest scoop on your condition so they can spread it around to everyone the doesn't know.
They just don't care. They don't care because people are ruthless, inconsiderate, and gossip-lovers. They're like piranhas, but instead of feeding off of human flesh they feed off of your humiliation, your imperfections, and the gossip that you provide them with. Especially when you've always been that perfect family, and suddenly you're ruined. Suddenly, they can let you know that you're just like them. You've finally made it down to their level. You're suddenly 'one of them'.
From the outside we've always been the perfect family in this small little town. We've always been the family that everyone thought would make it. We were supposed to be the family that proved you could stick together forever through the grace of God and love. We were supposed to stick together through thick and thin. Instead, we've became a disgrace and a laughing stock to this small little town that believed we were perfect.
Now we're Tish, Miley, and Noah. And then there's Robby and whatever woman he's with right now.
A/n: This is super short, but I've managed to write quite a few short one-shots. This one's really personal, and it sucks but I'm venting. So, yeah :)
