NOTE: This is my first high school musical fanfic. It was prompted after I watched HSM 2 (I've only previously seen one and three, never two). After seeing the musical item 'I Don't Dance' all I could think of was how cute Chad and Ryan would be as a couple. Hope it is ok.

Ryan walked into the auditorium and put his back pack on the piano stool before taking out a folder and skimming over a list of dance moves he had been working on for the new upcoming musical. He started to tap a beat with his fingers.

"Each morning I get up I die a little, can't barely stand on my feet," he began to sing. "Take a look in the mirror and cry, Lord, what ya doing to me. I've spent all my years believing in you, but I just can't get no relief. Lord, somebody, somebody, can anybody find me, somebody to love."

"Ryan!" Sharpay's voice rang through the auditorium. He stopped singing and looked up. "Just making sure you're ok...This morning you looked pretty down,"

"Yeah I'm ok...Just need some alone time," Ryan said.

"Ok," Sharpay smiled and squeezed his shoulders before leaving. Ryan let out a sigh and went back to the papers in front of him.

"Got no feel I got no rhythm, I just keep losing my beat, I'm okay I'm alright, ain't gonna face no defeat, I just gotta get out of this prison cell, one day I'm gonna be free, Lord somebody, somebody, can anybody find me somebody to love,"

"That's pretty good," Ryan looked up to see Chad standing at the edge of the stage.

"Ahh...Thanks..." Ryan said, suddenly feeling coy.

"Don't stop on account of me," Chad said as he leant against the piano.

"I was just...You know..." Ryan mumbled.

"Lets see..." Chad said and went through a pile of papers sitting on the piano before finding what he was looking for. "Ahem...Everyday, I try and I try and I try, but everybody wants to put me down, they say I'm going crazy, they say I got a lot of water in my brain, got no common sense, I've got nobody left to believe, yeah, yeah, yeah! Yeah! Yeah!"

"Wow," Ryan said in amazement. He never thought that someone like Chad could put so much effort into the verse of a song.

"So I heard that you might be interested in watching a baseball match on TV tonight," Chad smiled.

"Umm...Yeah, I've taken an interest," Ryan said.

"Care to join me?" Chad asked.

"Umm...Is that meant to be...You know..." Ryan blushed.

"Yeah, I'm asking you if you want to come to my place tonight and watch a game..." Chad said.

"Ahh...Sure..." Ryan said.

"It's ok, my parents aren't home...So I'll see you at seven," Chad confirmed. Ryan nodded. "It's a date then,"

"Ok," Ryan said, a smile growing on his face. He watched Chad walked away. "How did you know that I wanted to watch the game tonight?"

Chad stopped and turned around and said "Lets just call her a little bird," then he left. Ryan stood there with a smile on his face. So it did seem that his sister did listen to his rants, especially the one he had last night.
