It wasn't the sound of cars outside the window nor the sunlight pouring through the window directly onto her face, but rather the lack of a warm body next to her that awoke her. Ok, maybe it was the sunlight, but the other reasoning sounded sweeter in her head even if it was a bit out of sorts from last night.

Exhaling and finally sitting up, Roxy notices the note on the nightstand. The familiar yet somewhat rushed cursive reads, "Got called into work. I still owe you breakfast". A small smile tugs at her lips as she thinks of the woman behind the note, the woman she had spent the night with and the woman with which she had been involved for roughly four months now.

She had met her- Rose- the night after her first brush with an international crisis. Eggsy had later teased Roxy for choosing to celebrate at a gay bar of all places. Roxy retorted that not everyone could find a girl on a mission. And with the confidence of a few drinks in her system she had done just that, although she hadn't planned for it to turn into anything other than one night. Both her and Eggsy seemed unable to be unattached and it was quite a problem, really. She couldn't tease Eggsy about his princess anymore.

Roxy had only been sitting in bed for a short time before electronic beeping cut through the ambiance of city noises. Begrudgingly, the brunette got up for work. After silencing the annoyance on her bedside table and getting dressed she feels an absence in her suit jacket. Hoping she merely left the glasses at the shop yesterday, she finishes her morning routine and heads out only a few minutes late.

It's unusually quiet when Lancelot heads in to work. Her footsteps on the stairs are too audible for today to be a normal one. Nevertheless, Galahad gives her his usual mock-disapproval as she steps into the stuffy briefing room a few minutes late. Merlin is too preoccupied with his clipboard to say anything. Roxy turns to her fellow agent, looking for an explanation only to receive an unknowing shrug back. It's another moment or so before the screen in front of them lights up like it should.

"Finally!" Merlin exclaims, turning to the Kingsman, "This room has been giving us problems for a-" His explanation is cut short as he sees the confusion on the faces in front of him. His head turns to see the screen flickering.

"Shit.," He mumbles before beginning to fiddle with the clipboard once more.

"Merlin!" Galahad calls as the image on the screen finally becomes visible. The Kingsman now stare at an image that's akin to a missing person's poster. "Have You Seen Me?" heads the page in black bold letters followed by a photo, name, date of birth, and an organization only Merlin seems to understand. But it's the photo that gets Roxy. The hair is different, sure, but the face- the eyes- they're the same ones she saw in a bar not too long ago.

"Rox," Eggsy turns to her, whispering softly, "don't tell me that's-," but Roxy's already up from her seat. She ignores Eggsy's shouting as she makes her way out the door. Her footsteps are even louder and faster than before, but her mind is racing too fast for her to notice. She can still feel the absence in her breast pocket.
