Sam shook her head, grinning, and walked over to Alex.
"What's so funny?" Alex asked, following Sam's gaze.
Her eyes settled on Kara and Lena, who were happily chatting in the corner. As she and Sam watched, Lena said something to Kara, which made her face light up and throw her head back in laughter. Lena's eyes shone as she looked at the other woman, and she seemed pleased with herself that she had made Kara happy. Alex nodded knowingly.
"They're clueless, aren't they?" She chuckled. "Well, Kara is, at least!" Sam laughed outright at that.
From across the room, Kara and Lena were observing the party. They watched Alex and Same with smiles on their lips.
"They really don't know, do they? How much they care for each other," Lena remarked to Kara.
Ruby ran up to Alex, her eyes wide with excitement as she chattered on about something.
"And Alex is so good with Ruby. I think they all really need each other," Kara had a soft smile on her face.
She and Lena just chuckled and shook their heads, turning back to each other. Sam and Alex, with a last glance at their friends, did the same.
