365 Days
It was always the same routine, day in, day out, every day for 365 days. Every day for 365 days, Martha Jones would trek across whole continents. Every day for 365 days, she would avoid the "Toclofane". And every day for 365 days, she would preach to the people about the Doctor. Every day for 365 days, she would speak of his brilliance and enthusiasm. Every day for 365 days, she would speak of his intelligence and wisdom. And every day for 365 days, she would admit her love for him. It didn't matter where she was, whether it be Asia or Africa or South America, every day for 365 days, a new group of people would hear her confession.
At first, she'd just needed to get it out of her system. She needed someone to listen to her, and these people hung on her every word. Then she kept saying it, every day for 365 days. She needed to say it to remind herself of just how much he meant to her. How she'd do anything for him. And that was why she was spending 365 days travelling the world. But when you're alone for that long, you end up thinking differently. Having being parted from him for 365 days, her memories of him were slightly altered. Sometimes when she sat back and thought of him, there was something in his smile that hadn't been there before. She thought maybe, just maybe, he felt the same way about her.
But on the 366th day, after returning to him and saving the world, she left him. She ran inside her house, closed her eyes and wept.
Even after 365 days, he still didn't love her back.
