The truth of the matter is that there are times when honesty is not always the best policy.
It was one of the first things Albus Dumbledore learned when he began organising the resistance
which would ultimately lead to Voldemort's downfall.
Sometimes a lie can serve the cause where the truth would seek to destroy it.
Albus Dumbledore soon came to recognise that sometimes hope was more valiant an ally than truth could ever be.
In a war, where the odds were stacked highly against them he had a choice to make and that's exactly what he did.
When it was needed he chose hope over honesty.
For just as love can conquer the most dangerous of obstacles, hope can enable the most incredible
of feats.
Positive thought at times can be an almost tangible force, a coveted aide when fighting battles that had to be fought.
For from hope stemmed the ability to believe in victory, a belief that was necessary to instil the determination that is needed if one is to engage in war.
In later years there would be those that would disagree, but truthfully he did not care.
