I'm back!
Hope all my Gleeks are still here and ready to read!
Enjoy! X
He didn't mean to scream at her and cause an argument. He had being reacting on impulse and still had some anger running through his veins from Will and Emma's interference.
Finn was currently sat on his bed, running his hand through his hair, as he tried to get hold of Rachel.
He hadn't meant to scream and shout at her as he thought she was trying to change his mind about his career path. He wanted to follow in his footsteps, but not everyone was thrilled and he knew they wouldn't be, but he didn't expect Rachel to be one of them.
Rachel's voice-mail greeted his ear and he let out a frustrated groan, before speaking.
'Baby, it's me! I didn't mean to shout at you. I'm really sorry! Please just call me back, so we can talk. I love you!'
He hung up, placing the phone on his bedside table and fell back on his covers, his arm slung over his face.
'Finn? Dinners ready!' Carole called from downstairs. Finn groaned and dragged himself from the bed, making his way downstairs, not hearing the vibrations of his phone...
Rachel sighed as Finn didn't answer. While she was still angry with him for how he reacted when she told him her disapproval of the army idea, she was more upset about something else.
She had just come from home after her dance class to find her fathers on the verge of a break up. It was clear that the argument had been bad because there was broken glass on the floor from where ornaments had been thrown.
She snapped her phone shut as Finns voice-mail began in her ear. She rested her head against the brick wall and took a shaky breath. She could hear her fathers beginning to clean up the mess and she stepped away from her house, wiping her eyes as she headed down the street...
Meanwhile at Breadstick, Mike, Tina, Mercedes and Artie were sat round a table, sharing an assortment of appetizers between them.
'So, you thought anymore about what you're going to do after high school?' Tina asked them, as she crunched on a breadstick.
'I'm thinking about moving away for a bit... Maybe L.A or someplace, branch out on my own... Become a star my way' Mercedes answered, taking a bite of bread.
'Well I've got another year yet, before I have to make my choice, but I like the idea of being in charge of running a play... A director.' Artie said, as he thought about, before nodding. 'Yeah, I'm going to talk Emma about it tomorrow'
Tina nodded, impressed. 'So will we see you name on big screen anytime soon?' She asked with a smile.
Artie smiled back at her. 'One day you will!' He told her, making them chuckle, before Mike spoke up.
'Dancer all round. Maybe Brittany can be my partner, she pulled some pretty good moves at sectionals during Santana's 'Valerie' number'
'Oh that would be cool! The Mike Chang and Brittany Pierce dance duo. Hey, you go on the road with Mercedes!' Tina mused, watching as Mercedes nodded in agreement.
'This girl still needs her homies around her when she leaves!' She said with a big smile, causing the others to laugh as they continued to have a good time...
'You sure you're okay?' Puck asked Quinn, as he laid next to her on the bed, fully clothed.
'I will be' Quinn sighed. Seeing Shelby and Beth back in town had thrown her into a loop. She always wondered how her daughter was doing, but never found the courage to reach out, until they reappeared just a few weeks ago.
'Shes happy, Quinn. We made the decision, but... At least we can still see her' Puck told her, reaching for her arm and rubbing it gently.
'Do you ever wonder what if?' She asked, turning her head to look at Puck.
'If we hadn't put her up for adoption?' He asked, wanting to make sure they were on the same page.
'Yeah, I mean... I can't help but worry that when she's older, she's going to resent us for what we did' Quinn told him. Puck sighed.
'She might at first, but it'll be natural. One day, she'll realise that we were too young to have to have a baby, let alone support her. She'll realise that one day, we did what was best for her' Puck reasoned with her. Quinn gazed at him for a few minutes before she smiled.
'When did you get wise?' She asked, teasingly.
Puck shrugged. 'Maybe I've realized its time to grow up' he told her with a smile...
After dinner had been polished off, Kurt left Finn, Carole and Burt to do the dishes, while he grabbed his phone and took a phone-call.
'Hey Blaine! You okay?' Kurt greeted as he answered with a smile. He closed his bedroom door behind him and reclined on his bed.
'Yeah, just wanted to see if you were up for movie tonight? I've got the house to myself so we won't be disturbed' Blaine told him, his voice slightly hopefully.
Kurt thought about it before sighing. 'Tonight's not a good time, but I'll do a rain check' Kurt told his boyfriend gently.
'Oh!' Blaine sounded slightly disappointed and Kurt felt guilty. ' Yeah sure, that'll be fine. Can I ask what it is your doing?' Blaine asked gently.
'I need to make sure Finn is certain about this whole army idea and if he is, then I'm going to give him my support on it, seeing as everyone is so against it' Kurt replied, making Blaine smile.
'Give him my support too. If it's what he wants, then good for him!' Blaine said, making Kurt smile.
'Thank you, he'll appreciate that! Later, I've got to go... Talk to you later?' Kurt proposed, hopefully.
'Of course. Let me know how it goes' Blaine told him, before Kurt could hang up.
'Will do! Bye' Kurt said, before disconnecting the call and placing the phone on the bedside table. He sighed before heading back downstairs, finding Finn slumped down on the sofa.
'Where's Dad and Carole?' he asked, noticing their absence.
'They're upstairs, arguing about my future. Burt is starting to see it from my point of view, while Mom is adamant that I'm not going! I know its her fear of what happened to my Dad... but I'm going Kurt... And I don't care what anyone says. I'll go with everyone hating me if I have to' Finn told Kurt firmly, looking at him in the eyes so he knew that he wasn't joking...
