24th Street

The station was swarming with people who just wanted to get home from work. SQ stepped onto the train and was quickly pushed to the other side as people crowded in. As the door closed, she felt a large man come up next to her and relax his hand on her waist, and he slowly inched it down. She slapped it off and waved her way through the mob to get away from him.

Lake Avenue

Near a residential area, she deduced as about two-thirds of the people filed off. Creepy Dude was still there, staring at her with a half-smile. She found an empty seat next to an older lady reading a book and put in her earbuds, forgetting to turn on any music.

Queens Street

Creepy Dude stepped off the train and onto the platform, not forgetting to turn and give SQ a wink before turning away. God, she hoped she wouldn't have to see him again. Now, realizing she had forgotten to turn her mp3 on, she turned her mp3 on. Sophia recently made her a CD, but refused to tell her what was on it. She made the CD, put it on her computer, and just put everything on the mp3. She listened to it ring softly in her ears, closed her eyes, and smiled, glad she had Sophia in her life.

Astor Road

The train pulled up to its final stop, so SQ waited for the older lady so she could leave. She didn't move.

"Nice to finally meet you, Ms. Quick."

SQ sighed. This must have been the lady they had been briefed about earlier this week.

"I assume you know who I am?"

There was a hostage situation earlier that month, and she was the only one who got out unscathed. No one thought much of it (aside from her bravery and heroism, of course) until there was another situation with her, again, being the only one getting out unharmed. She was either lucky to be alive and safe twice, unlucky for getting in those situations, or part of the group that started these situations. Still, SQ couldn't picture someone her age being a part of it.

"Yeah, I know. What's up?"

"What's up? That's all?"

"If we could just hurry this confrontation up, or at least move it somewhere else, I think they're going to be clearing the train. This was the last stop, you know?"

"So I'll make it quick. Quick for Samantha Quick. You couldn't let go of the fact that the same woman, same situation, same outcome happened. Thought it was suspicious. So I'm acting all afraid, you're side-eyeing me."

"Well, it's strange. Also I wasn't the only one who thought that. Who're you with, though? Revenant?"

"I try not to associate with them. The important thing is that who I'm with is going to have more 'situations.' We'll just have to be more careful, and part of that is getting rid of the people who are suspicious of us."

"And that's me. Bring it on, I guess. I want to go home."

Without any warning, the woman swing her book around to his SQ in the stomach. It landed the blow, and she doubled over in her seat. Older lady then hit the back of her neck with the book, keeping her down. Before she could get back up, she heard a click and felt cold metal on the back of her neck. Of course she had to have a gun. SQ slowly put her hands in the air so the other lady could see them.

"You know, if I'm not home for dinner, someone's going to be upset with me. I was late yesterday and it was not a pretty sight."

"You don't need to worry about being late. Just not being there at all. Now, I don't want to kill you now, but if you don't listen, I might have to. First, give me your phone." SQ moved her right hand down into her pocket, then placed the phone on the ground.

"Good. Any weapons?" She reached into her bag and shoes, pulling out two guns, a small taser, and her knife. All went by her phone.

"Next−" The door between the cars opened and the conductor walked in.

"Hey, this is the last−" he was cut off by the lady swinging up and pulling the trigger. He fell, and SQ took the moment to elbow the lady in the gut, watching as she doubled over. She wrestled the gun out of her hands and pointed it at her.

"Really, old lady? Also, no funny business. You make one move out of line and I'm going to kill you." Keeping the gun trained on her, she grabbed her phone and dialed the police.

"Hey there. You might want to come to the Astor Road station. Dead conductor and that old hag who was in the hostage situations. Don't worry, it's all under control. Want to say hi?" She held the phone to the older lady, who just growled. "That's a no. Great. Thanks!" She hung up and dialed another number.

"Honey? Yeah I'm going to be a little late for dinner."
