I look in the mirror
And see myself
My eyes reflect the loneliness
Felt in my heart
I look down,
Feeling the weight of it all
I look back up to see her face
Where mine should be
Her brown eyes look into mine
The light on her hair forming a halo
Her mouth moves, but makes no sound
And as I watch
She walks through
I cannot move
I've forgotten how
As she walks up to me
And kisses me

I wake the next morning
And I look down
To see the face of an angel
Sleeping beside me
I kiss her forehead
To wake her up
She stirs, and her eyes open
But she starts to fade
And before she's gone, she whispers
"I love you, Ken."
And then she is gone
And I wonder if it was all a dream
I roll over, not wanting morning to come
And smell the sweetness of rose buds
Her words come back to me
And I whisper to no one
"I love you, too, Kari."
I don't feel the loneliness anymore
