Ginny is among the last to walk through the silent classroom filled with the bodies of the lost. She bites her lip as she contemplates those gone. Fred next to Lupin next to Tonks, each shrouded in black and laying beneath a floating, temporary tombstone describing their lives.
She stops in shock at the man beside Tonks.
"Colin Creevey, 1981-1998. Member of Gryffindor House. Member of D.A."
She falls to her already-weak knees beside his still body. His face is fixed with an eternal look of shock, as though he was surprised he had been hit. In his fisted left hand, she fins the D.A. coin Hermione gave him long ago.
She can handle Tonks and Lupin. She would grieve Fred, but she knew she would heal. But this…this is simply one death too many.
She points her wand at his tombstone, whispering the words she'd whispered to him before.
"You are brave and true, and some will overlook you, but keep your head up. You are as loyal as they come."
Her voice breaks, and she lowers her wand.
"I'll miss you, Colin."
Finally, she succumbs to the tears, crying for the first time in a very long time.
