If I had my life to give again

-"I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country."

~ Nathan Hale

I watch over you night and day

I know of your battles like the waves in the bay

If I could save you again I would,

But I now longer have the power,

I gave it up in that infamous hour

I would comfort you when your hope cowers,

Only to leave you with a flower

A flower of eternal love

If I had my life to give again

I would take care of you when you're sick

And when life gives a hard kick

If I had my life to give again

I would get you out of this mess

I'd get all who've wronged you to confess

If I had my life to give again

If I had my life to give again . . .

Author's Note: It was the quote at the top that inspired to do this. I had been watching an Abraham Lincoln documentary when Nathan Hale comes to my mind for some unknown reason. My teacher had told me about it. I believe I should tell all of you a short version of the story, so that you can see how moving it is.

Nathan Hale was a young American spy during the time of the Revolutionary War. Well he was caught. His punishment was to be hanged. When the executioner (I think, I don't much about such things) asked him if he had any last words he replied with the quote.

Disclaimer: though because there are no names mentioned I'm not sure if I have to write one of these, but I had in my mind that this should be from either Lily or James to Harry, all three characters belong to J.K. Rowling.
