A small golden Queen sat midst Of an empty Nursery upon a bed of moss. Her shimmering fern-green eyes looked out Into the busy clearing, Kits were happily playing, throwing out their best roars which In their mind was undeniably real, Apprentices sat by the Fresh-kill-pile chewing on their pick of prey and conversing with others beside them, while Frogstar, Their noble leader, sat on a long limb of the camp tree that stood high near his den. The shady brown tom stared at all occurring with his own green eyes and The deputy, Ragweed was settled near him, grooming his pelt contently. All was currently well In Darkclan.
And She felt suddenly strangely envious that most of her Clan-mates were outside and she was cooped up In a den on a well weathered day. It had been unusually muggy In Darkclan's territory for the past few moons, The clan was worried their would be a drought however Starclan drew mercy on them but this certainly wasn't the real reason she was confined to her bedding. She was heavy with kits and It was predicted By Softcloud, The Darkclan Medicine Cat, They'd be due soon. The cream colored She-cat cared for Her and being her Older sibling she had to make sure she was healthy and that nothing fatal happened to the Golden she.
"Honeypatch?" A voice then asked softly. She looked to where the voice had called from seeing a fellow queen step into view and as the queen got closer Honeypatch immediately recognized her. It was Dapplemouse, A kind Calico and A dear friend. She already had kits her kits and they were almost a moon old.
She smiled."Just making sure."
"Did Softcloud send you?"
Dapplemouse nodded quietly."She did but not to check on you but to bring you some prey."
Her paw slid behind her and pushed a plump mouse forward. It looked fresh and Honeypatch felt her Mouth water as she began imagining how Juicy It must taste.
She quickly outstretched her paws and grasped It, pulling It closer and Biting Into It ravenously without thanking Dapplemouse. Her eyes widened as she realized this. She rushed her chewing almost choking on a chunk of meat while trying to say or at least utter a Thank you. "Sorry! T-Thank you!" The queen stuttered after swallowing, ears flat In embarrassment. Her den mate gave a mrrow of Laughter and tossed her a humane look.
Honeypatch smiled gratefully and laughed herself, playing it cool on her outer exterior but on the inside she was scolding herself at how her appetite had overrun her manners. 'How could I have been so rude?'
She slowly reeled her head down and backward.
"Well, I'd better go check up on Shadekit and Beekit. Those mischievous fur-balls of mine like to play extreme hide and seek. I'm gonna go catch up with them before they can make It out the entrance again." And with that Dapplemouse vanished past the leaf curtain dangling over the entrance leaving Honeypatch isolated once again.
