Sara held her breath as she passed by a rather disgusting garbage can. She was on the long walk that she had to take every night, trying to get home before her mother realized she was late. Her dirty shoes made noises every time it hit the wet pavement, causing the quiet night to sort of wake up. The moon was large and round, lighting up the shadows around her. About ten minutes later, Sara started see that the clouds were moving in, covering the full moon so that it was almost pitch black. The abandoned street scared her, and she couldn't help but feel vulnerable. She was about to make it past the last corner of the long road, when headlights sped around it. Trying to move out of the way, Sara fell. She tried to get up, tried to crawl away, but the car was too fast, and she was now to low for them to see.

The car made a bumping noise when it hit her, and she made a just as loud scream. She heard the car squeak to a stop, and the door open. The shadowed figure gasped, and got back in the car. Will they leave her? Sara saw the headlights speed away and soon after she started feeling the pain. It had driven right over her torso, and she must have broken ribs. She tried to move and couldn't. The tears in her eyes swelled even more, but quickly dried up when a cold hand grabbed her shoulders. "Get Carlisle, Alice." A voice said, the owner of it picking her up. "Rosalie... Do you think we have time?" Another voice, said. Sara was sure it was the girl the one who is holding her, Rosalie, called Alice. "Just go," Rosalie snapped, holding Sara close. Soon another figure appeared next to her. "Oh my... What happened?" The other figure, a man, asked. "Must have been that car we saw speeding off." Rosalie said. "Let's take her home... Esme' can decide if we should bite her..." The man said.

Sara felt a rush of wind hit her. A nauseous feeling grasped her, and she felt herself black out, right as a large white house came into view.
