The Rose General
Ok, this is set years after season one of RWBY, shortly after the groups graduated. A fourth named team, Team "SNTL" (Sentinel) was added – this team is made up of Sun and three FCs – Noir, Tira and Langford. More FCs are possibilities to be added, but of these three, only Noir is planned to play a major/semi-major role. The story was, at forst, inspired by a Final Fantasy IX remix, which is also where I got the title for this fanfic. Brilliant remixer, love the song; I'll post a link if asked so you too can hear the inspiration. However, after a major rewrite of the second chapter, it grew into a far better piece.
The basic backstory to this is in the final year before the teams graduate, the villains (Cinder, Torchwick and more) got their hands on a relic called the "Moon Stone", a stone made of concentrated Dust. This stone was capable of controlling the forces of Grimm, and using these forces, along with a variety of criminal gangs that had sided with them, declared war on society. As such, the police and huntsmen/huntresses joined forces, as did all the schools and cities, to form a coalition, and battled back these dark forces.
However, some of the hunter teams, notably Team CRDN, were corrupted by Torchwick's promises, and served as double-agents, waiting until the opportunity to turn on the coalition to join what they saw as the "winning side". This sets the scene for the opening chapter.
Now, don't get me wrong, there will be some darker scenes in this, and it is classed as "Mature" purely due to the potential for you to get some of the more graphic scenes, of both the 'gory' and 'adult' kinds. Yes, that's right. Once I get a chapter or two in, I'd like some audience participation. If you have questions, or you want certain scenes to appear as flashbacks, or more explanation, just let me know either as a review or a personal message. Want to get a fancharacter into here? Again, message me and we'll discuss. Now that this author's note is out of the way, onwards we go to the story itself.
