Wow this is short, I just had this strike me at like three in the morning and I couldn't get back to sleep until it was written it down. It was longer but I edited it and took out my favourite part (weird I know) I'm going to post the other version as chapter 2.

She's laughing again, swatting my arm, telling me how funny I am, it's like music to my ears. I can't help but stare as she tilts her head back at the peak of her laughing fit. It doesn't always take much to set her off and I love that pink tint that covers her cheeks. I admit it I do it on purpose just to see that beautiful colour.

'She thinks I'm funny she appreciates my sense of humour, she likes me!" the mantra repeats several times in my mind as she laughs.

Her eyes are scrunched up, laugh lines clearly seen around them and around her mouth. Her pearly white teeth form the perfect smile as her lips turn up into a grin. Her eyes seem to sparkle when she laughs they convey that everything is going to be okay, that nothing's wrong. Her eyes are what first drew me to her well that and her laugh, her smile her... beauty.

She sighs and puts her head on my shoulder.

"Thanks Eric, I really needed that" she speaks softly like it would ruin the moment to speak any louder. I tell her that it was no problem that it was my pleasure. I tell her that we all need to laugh a little more, smile a little more, and stuff like that she smiles.

"That was almost deep." She stands up and steps off the rock we're sitting on. Quickly she turns back her usually perfectly manicured fingers reach for what I think is my hair instead in a blink of an eye she has my hat. Screaming like a banshee she takes off down the beach.

"I'm gonna get you!" I yell getting up; I jog quickly trying to catch up to her. Her peals of laughter float on the wind and it's like music to my ears.
