Disclaimer: I do not own Fairy Tail or any of the characters relating to the characters

After becoming a fan of Fairy Tail, I racked my brains to write a story on Juvia, who is my favorite female character. After watching/reading the Penalty storyline, I was disappointed over how brief of a moment she had with Gray, considering she could have done anything she wanted with him for the whole day. And so I decided to have Juvia go a different course with Gray in this story. Hope you all enjoy my first Fairy Tail story.

Chapter 1: A Date with Gray

After Fairy Tail A team returned to the guild and delivered the magic stone for Laxus' Jacuzzi, the teammates were assigned to a specific Team B member for the rest of the day.

Laxus chose Natsu and Elfman, sending them off on wild, nigh impossible errands.

Mirajane chose Erza, and led her out of the guildhall to the town square.

Gajeel chose Lucy, and told her to meet him at the town square and to bring Levy with her.

Lily chose both Happy and Carla, and demanded them to carry him around all day.

And finally, the last member of Team B eyed the person she had chosen to be with her for the whole day: The raven haired hunky ice mage that held her heart from the day they met.

Juvia could barely contain herself. She tried to calmly walk over Gray, who was still shell-shocked from the swamp experience.

"Gray-sama." She cooed at her beloved.

Gray looked up with dread in his eyes. She could tell something must have happened to him during the swamp journey, but she was too filled with happy thoughts to consider it.

Realizing she was on the verge of fantasizing, Gray finally asked the question.

"Okay, Juvia, what do I have to do?" Gray asked anxiously.

Juvia fantasized her greatest desire, in which she pictured herself and Gray being together in an intimate setting.

"Juvia." Fantasy Gray spoke dreamily as he held fantasy Juvia's hands. "I know I am required to do this."

Fantasy Juvia's eyes soften as she looked at her beloved. "Gray-sama…."

Gray leaned in close to whisper in her ear. "But…. This is a punishment I would gladly endure. For the sake of our love."

Juvia sighed dreamily at the mere thought. Suddenly, she shook the dirty thought from her head, realizing that idea would not be a proper chose.

"No, No, Juvia!" Juvia scolded herself in her thoughts. "This is the day you will make Gray see the true you. Juvia must be proper and mature or she will scare her darling away."

"Juvia!" Gray said loudly as he waved his hand in front of her face. "Stop daydreaming and tell me what I have to do."

Juvia awoke from her trance, and re-focused her attention to the raven haired Ice Mage.

"Well, Juvia….." Juvia hesitated. "Juvia wants Gray-sama to take her out on a date."

To any other guy, especially Lyon-sama, this type of punishment would not seem so bad. A simple date with a beautiful girl?

Juvia knew that Gray very well, however, and knew that his first thought to this punishment would not be warmly accepted. Much to her surprise, he seemed to react pretty calmly to it, yet still seemed annoyed.

"Okay." Gray sighed sharply. "If it's just one date…."

Juvia gave him a big grin, as she clasped her hands together.

"Great. Now Juvia needs Gray-sama to go home and change." Juvia told him.

Gray raised an eyebrow. "Change my clothes? Why?"

Juvia gave him an innocent smile. "Gray-sama may not realize it, but he smells like the swamp he journeyed to get the magic stone."

"What?" Gray scowled as he lifted his arm, and smelled his armpit. "Oh, yeah. Guess I should at least clean myself up."

"Great!" Juvia exclaimed before looking at the clock on the wall behind him. "Well, Juvia needs to freshen up as well. Meet her back here at the guild hall in an hour."

"Alright, you are the boss." Gray shrugged.

Juvia squealed as she turned to leave, practically skipping along with joy.

Fairy Hills, Juvia's Dorm

Juvia turned on the water handle as she entered the shower. She scrubbed her body very thoroughly with her Gray-themed loofahs.

"Juvia needs to be the perfect girl for Gray-sama." Juvia told herself as she scrubbed her legs.

She rinsed off her soapy body that had a unique fragrance that she knew Gray liked. Stepping out of the shower, she reached for her towel and wrapped it around her body as she got a good look at herself in the mirror.

She pulled out another towel, albeit smaller, to dry her luscious blue hair.

"Hm, how should Juvia wear it today?" Juvia pondered.

Juvia remembered how she originally wore her hair before she joined Fairy Tail. From her adolescence , she styled it in cute curly rings that looked like waves. She had hoped as a child this hairstyle would peak some interest from her fellow peers, but it had no success.

Juvia brushed her luscious blue hair with her comb as her mind began to fantasize the other girls' hairstyles."

"Erza…...Wendy…..Cana…..Levy…...Love Rival…."

Even though she valued her friendship with Lucy, Juvia always viewed her as a threat when it came to Gray, but she had admired her beauty, wishing to be as cute as her. Juvia remembered that aside from her rain following her, the reason most men left her were when sexy young girls would befriend her and steal away potential suitors. Lucy resembles one such individual from Juvia's past.

"Oh, if I was only as pretty as Lucy." Juvia moaned. "She has beautiful hair. She has beautiful….everything."

Juvia slapped herself. "No, No! Stop thinking about Lucy. Juvia is just as beautiful on the outside, and she will show Gray-sama that she is even more beautiful on the inside."

In the end, Juvia decided to simply wear her hair as she has since the Grand Magic Games started. She quickly got dressed in her outfit once more, which she had previously washed.

Refreshed, Juvia went over to her drawer, pulling out a small book, entitled "My date with Gray-Sama."

She pressed it to her lips, softly kissing it. "Please, love gods, let Juvia be successful with Gray-sama today."

After kissing one of her Gray dolls, Juvia rushed out of the dorms and back to the guildhall with a skip in her step.

Guild Hall

Gray leaned against the bar, waiting for Juvia. It had already been fifteen minutes, and he was getting a little impatient.

"Still waiting, Gray?" a voice from behind the bar asked.

Gray turned around to see Lisanna, who was cleaning of the few mugs on the counter.

"Hey, what are you doing here?" Gray asked, curious as to see her doing her older sister's job.

"Well, since Laxus has my brother under his control, and my sister is out with Erza, managing the guildhall is mine for the day." Lisanna replied as she began drying one of the mugs.

"Right." Gray grinned. "Life still goes on for Fairy Tail."

"So I heard Juvia's got you for the day." Lisanna asked after setting the mug back on the rack. "That must be exciting."

Gray inhaled sharply, exhaling through his nose. "She is making me take her out on a date."

"That doesn't sound so bad." Lisanna shrugged.

Gray glared at Lisanna. "You have no idea how much of a pest she can be. I mean, yes, she is still my friend, but she is so stubborn and overbearing. She can really get on my nerves when she won't leave me alone."

Lisanna handed him a mug of sake. "Here, it's on the house."

Gray took a sip of the mug.

"And can I tell you something?" Lisanna asked.

Gray nodded as he continued to down the mug's contents.

"Juvia does care about you a lot, and she has stood by you multiple times in battle" Lisanna told him. "And judging from what I've heard about the your team, she might have saved you from being humiliated."

Gray finished the mug off. "Well, I get that, but still, she can go overboard. And there's no telling what type of insane ideas she has for this date."

"Sounds you like you should try to see the positive parts of Juvia than the bad." Lisanna advised. "Yes, she can be a bit clingy, but her feelings are not superficial. She really, really likes you. And who knows? If you give her the chance, you might actually be able to see her in a different light."

"Well, the people that I loved ended up leaving me." Gray muttered.

"So, that means you do love her?" Lisanna grinned wickedly.

Gray's eyes bulged, realizing his mistake. "NO, I did not say that!"

"Whatever you say." Lisanna smiled.

Man, she's becoming her sister. Gray thought. "Look, Juvia is just my friend. And that's all we will ever be. I'm only doing this date just because I am required to, nothing more."

"Well, okay, if you say so." Lisanna said as she handed him a second mug.

Gray downed the remains of the mug's contents just as the guild doors swung open.

"Gray-Sama!" Juvia yelled, catching the attention of Gray and everyone else in the guild.

Gray groaned at the sight of the water mage. "Well, here we go."

Gray did not even need to walk toward Juvia, who bolted in front of him a mere few seconds, much to Lisanna's astonishment.

"You're late, Juvia." Gray told her, not bothering to hide the annoyance in his tone.

"Juvia apologizes to Gray-sama." Juvia said cheerfully. "She forgot to pick up something when she was leaving."

She reaches in to her purse, and pulls out the book.

"Here!" Juvia chimed as she held up the book to his face. "I made it in preparation for this day."

"Activities for First date with Gray-Sama."

'What's up with that title?" Gray gawked.

"In this book, it lists activities we can do our date." Juvia explained, ignoring Gray's outburst. "We must adhere to a tight schedule to do everything, so Gray-sama must follow Juvia's commands carefully."

"Okay, what are the specific…." Gray began as he reached for the book.

Juvia slapped his hand away.

"Okay, ow!" Gray sarcastically groaned as he held his hand.

"Forgive Juvia." Juvia apologized, slightly giggling. "But this book is for Juvia's eyes only. Gray-sama mustn't see it."

"Okay, fine, you are in charge." Gray shrugged. "Lead on."

"Now." Juvia nodded as she opened the book, looking over the choices listed. "What shall we do first?"

Before long, she found one that interested her. She closed the book and looked up at Gray.

"Okay, Juvia wants to start the date by having lunch with Gray-sama." Juvia told him

Gray sighed in relief. He expected something a bit more bold than that from Juvia, but a simple lunch was something he would have no problem with.

"Okay, where at?" Gray asked her.

Juvia took hold of his hand. "Juvia will show you!"

She practically dragged Gray as she ran out of the guildhall. Lisanna smiled at the couple.

"Man, those two are so different than Edolas." Lisanna said to herself.

End Notes: Well, it's a work in process, but enough to keep you all interested. I'm up for any wild suggestions for Juvia to make Gray do for her, so let me know what you think. Until next time.
