Author's Note: This takes place during Theodore's and Hermione's fifth year.

Theodore was sitting at his favorite table in the school library and reading a book for a History of Magic homework assignment when he heard footsteps approaching him.

As Theodore looked up, he allowed himself a smile, as he thought that it was Daphne approaching.

His smile, however, was quickly replaced with a grimace when he saw that it was Hermione Granger and not Daphne that was approaching him.

Hermione fully took in Theodore's robes, which indicated that he was a Slytherin. She made no comment on that, however.

"May I see the title of the book that you are reading?" she asked instead.

"Why?" Theodore asked.

"Because there's a particular book that I'm looking forward," Hermione replied, "and I want to see if you have it."

Theodore lifted up the book just enough so that Hermione could see the title on its cover.

"Yes, that's the one," Hermione smiled. "Are you almost done with it? I need it for my History of Magic assignment."

"So do I," Theodore responded. "And since I found it first, I'm going to use it first. Is this how you are always getting so good grades, by taking every book in the library for yourself? You're not the only student here, you know. There are others that also want to complete their homework besides just you. Or do you think you're the only one in this school with any brains?"

"No, I don't think that at all," Hermione returned. "I just want to know if I can use that book after you're finished with it. Or maybe we could share it."

"I don't think so," Theodore sneered. "It's enough that I have to hear your bossy, Know-It-All voice in Potions. I most definitely don't want to watch you trying to write a longer essay than me just so that you can show that your blood does not keep you from being so smart and wonderful. It's enough that you do that with your own House members. Don't do it with me as well. I'm not some stupid Gryffindor."

"I just want to complete my assignment on time," Hermione snapped. "I don't care if I write a longer essay than you or not. I just care about doing a good job."

"There are other books that you can use for this assignment," Theodore responded. "You just can't stand that a Pureblood might do a better job than you on a homework assignment."

"That's not the case at all," Hermione returned angrily. "You're the one with the problem, not me. But I'm not going to bother with trying to argue with you anymore. The assignment is not due for another week. I'm sure that book will be available by then, unless of course you're the only student in this school who actually wants to do homework."

"I would like to be able to do my homework" Theodore replied, "but it's kind of hard to do so when I'm having my ears talked off. Do you really like hearing your voice that much?"

"Now that I think of it," Hermione spoke, "I think there is a more detailed book somewhere in this library. I'll just use that book instead. I do, after all, want to write the best essay possible."

With that, Hermione stalked off.

"Draco's right," Theodore muttered to himself as he started to once again read from the book laid open in front of him. "She is annoying and full of herself."
