Wide awake
I wish I knew then what I know now
Wouldn't dive in, wouldn't bow down
Gravity hurts, you made it so sweet.
Till I woke up on the concrete
Wide awake-Katy Perry
Kate and Gibbs went to different sides, each one going toward a door leading to the roof when Kate felt one arm pressed against her neck, making her back get pressed against the chest behind her, while the other hand held hers, making her bring down her gun.
"What do you think you're doing, you bastard?"
Kate lifted her knee to hit the man, whom she recognized by the scent, but Ari Haswari didn't seem to have felt any pain with her foot treading his as she struggled in his arms.
And then, when she realized it, he pressed her against a door in the building, trapping her wrists in one hand, raising his other hand to her mouth covering it.
Kate felt his warm body pressed to hers, and for some strange reason, she felt safe, her heart feeling like it was going to melt, as she stared into his shining brown eyes and she shivered, forgetting to react for a moment. Why, everytime she looked into his eyes, she couldn't attack?
"Caitlin..." He muttered, being invaded by her scent and hoping that everything would work out. He didn't want to see her get hurt.
Ari had never shown concern for another woman, but Caitlin was special, even for a dangerous Mossad agent like him. She was honest, sweet, but she was also strong and wasn't afraid of confronting him.
"Why you won't kill me?" The NCIS agent asked in a low voice, frowning as he lowered his hand from her mouth, brushing away the hair from her neck and touching the communication wire around her neck. Because for some reason, she knew he wouldn't.
"Because I never wanted to hurt you..." And he murmured something in Hebrew that she didn't understand, surprised at his soft tone.
Kate felt her heart racing, like that time in the morgue when he had held her, and then, slowly, he brought his face closer to hers, seeing that she didn't seem to want to sidestep and he smiled, meeting her lips with his.
Kate's mind told her that this was wrong for several reasons, but his kiss was gentle and full of passion and she began to move her lips, feeling his caress on her neck, making her shiver.
And Ari smiled, feeling his blood being pumped faster as he felt her lips move against his.
But then he let go of her hands, opening the door to the storage bin and pushing Kate inside, locking the door.
"I'm sorry, Caitlin, but I'm doing it for you." And he ran off to follow with the plan. She would hate him, but at least she would be fine.
"You bastard!" Kate was hurling herself against the door, listening to Gibbs's voice on the communicator calling her, before then, she heard a shot and Tony's voice screaming in despair.
Kate's eyes widened in shock, and she stoepped throwing herself against the door, and slowly she slid down to the floor, covering her mouth, because something was telling her that that shot would have been for her.
