Selina closed the door behind Leslie Thompkins and walked back to the counter with the wine bottle. She poured two glasses, hoping the second glass would actually be drank. She took a sip from her glass. She then heard the thick flutter of a cape.

"You missed the party." she told the source of the flutter disappointingly.

"I'm sorry." Batman told her.

Selina heard the genuinely somber inflection in his voice. She was still angry with him, but the tone of his voice reminded her how much Bruce beat himself up over this kind of thing. He always tortures himself when he disappointed her.

She took a deep breath and turned around. Batman was standing in the middle of her living room, stareing at the floor.

"I wanted to be here. I tried to be here. Something came up." he told her.

Selina decided to go easy on him. She set down her glass and walked up to him. He was still stareing at the floor.

"Okay, look," she grabbed the bridge of her nose, "you're here now. Instead of fighting about it, we should just make the most of it."

Batman looked up at her. He then pulled back his mask. Bruce still looked frustrated and sad.

Selina stopped grabbing the bridge of her nose and looked at him.

"Regardless... I'm glad you're here."

She gave him a peck on the cheek and walked back to the counter and grabbed the glasses. She walked back up to Bruce and handed him a glass.

"You know I don't-"

"Come on, have a drink with me. It's my birthday!" she teased.

Bruce looked at the glass, then into her eyes.

Selina raised her glass. Bruce tapped the glass into hers. Selina took a started to drink her beverage.

Bruce slowly took a sip. He felt it burn his mouth and his throat. It tasted nice, but the alcohol completely overcame him.

Selina brought the glass down as Bruce made agonizing expressions as he swallowed the drink.

"HAHAHAHA Oh my god that face- HAHAHAHA!" Selina cackled.

"Shut up! I don't drink!" Bruce scolded.

"HAHAHA! Holy shit! I need that face for my phone wallpaper!"

Bruce set the glass on the coffee table.

"I hope you got your kicks." he told her frustratingly.

"That's the hardest I've laughed all night. I hereby absolve you of any further transgressions for missing the party." she cooed.

"Heh, well... I'm glad. I bought you a present." Bruce said.

Selina finished her glass.

"I know I'm a little drunk, but I don't see a present." she pointed out

Bruce gave a half-smirk.

"I have protocols for these kinds of things."

"I know. I'm gonna finish your glass."

She grabbed his glass and took a drink. Bruce confiscated the glass.

"No more. I bought you a present, but in case I missed the party, I was gonna give you a bigger one.

"Bruce, I don't need presents. I just want your company."

Selina took a step closer and wrapped her arms around his shoulders and kissed his lips. Bruce wrapped his around her waist.

Selina broke the kiss.

"Spend the night." she whispered, resting her forehead against his.

"Okay, kitten." he whispered back sweetly.

She pulled away and pointed at the closet.

"I bought some clothes for you to wear whenever you came over after patrol."

Bruce smiled at her warmly.

"That's nice of you."

"Oh shut up and get changed. I'm not tearing off all that plating just so we can fuck."

"Selina!" he scolded.
