Note: This story is a sequel to Natsuki and Shizuru: The Rise of Superheroes. Mai-Hime is an anime that was done by the studio Sunrise.
Natsuki Kuga, also known as Super Sorceress, and Shizuru Fujino, also known as Ninja Lady, had been California's superheroes for a month. During that time, they had gained a positive reputation and were well respected amongst the people of the city.
A few hours later, Natsuki and Shizuru went for a walk around the city. They looked around and saw henchmen. Natsuki and Shizuru knew that they were Priceless Tony's henchmen, because they had the initials PT on their jacket sleeves. Natsuki and Shizuru went into a phone booth, that was no longer in service, and changed into their leotards, flowing capes, and hats. Natsuki changed her hair from purple to black and Shizuru's hair from blonde to blue, in order to make their disguise more convincing. They became Super Sorceress and Lady Ninja, once again.
Super Sorceress and Lady Ninja walked into a bank that was owned by one of Priceless Tony's business rivals. They looked around and saw that the bank staff was beaten up. Super Sorceress ran up to them and made sure they were okay. She looked at them and said, "It appears they were only knocked out. The henchmen are probably in the vault, so we better go there and stop them."
Lady Ninja replied, "Sounds like a solid plan."
The two superheroes went into the bank vault and saw the henchmen grabbing money. One of the henchmen signaled, to the superheroes, to get out. Super Sorceress asked, "Do you really think a handle signal is going to stop us from foiling your bank robbery?"
The henchmen sighed and said, "If you had manners, you'd get out."
Super Sorceress asked, "Manners? You seem to be a professional hypocrite."
The henchmen replied, "We're just doing our mission."
Super Sorceress said, "My partner and I have a mission of our own. It involves beating you punks up."
The henchmen sighed again and replied, "You really are lacking in the manners department."
Super Sorceress rolled her eyes and blasted the henchmen out of the bank vault. The henchmen tried to run back to the bank vault, but Super Sorceress blasted them again. Lady Ninja ran up to them and used her karate skills to kick the robbers around the bank. One of the henchmen grabbed a wooden plank and threw it at Lady Ninja. She fell to the ground, while the henchmen laughed. Super Sorceress angrily glared at the henchmen and blasted him to the ground. The same henchmen grabbed the wooden plank again, but Super Sorceress blasted it into various pieces. The henchmen got up and tried to look for things to hit the heroes with, but Super Sorceress punched him to the ground. The henchmen passed out.
Super Sorceress ran up to Lady Ninja and helped her get up. She asked, "Are you okay?"
Lady Ninja said, "I sure am."
Super Sorceress had a concerned look on her face, while saying, "You need to be more careful. A wooden plank has enough power to seriously hurt you."
Lady Ninja replied, "I'll work on keeping my eyes out."
Super Sorceress looked around the room and saw that some of the henchmen were passed out and the others were ready to give up. She said, "It seems like we finished the job. Great teamwork, old chum."
Lady Ninja replied, "Yeah, you're the best."
Super Sorceress shook her head and said, "No, you're the best."
Super Sorceress and Lady Ninja walked outside. The bank's customers were thrilled to hear that their money was safe. The police arrived and arrested the henchmen. Photographers started taking pictures of the two superheroes.
The building that Mr. Tall worked at was a few blocks away from Mr. Britannia's building, the place that Priceless Tony wanted his henchmen to rob. Super Sorceress and Ninja Lady walked out of the building. They were looking around the city and saw a bunch of henchmen. Super Sorceress whispered, "Those guys seem like more of Priceless Tony's henchmen."
Ninja Lady replied, "Oh dear."
Super Sorceress smiled and asked, "Ready to fight some more henchmen?"
Ninja Lady smiled back and replied, "I sure am."
Super Sorceress and Ninja Lady followed the henchmen to Mr. Britannia's building. The henchmen burst into the building. Mr. Britannia was the least successful of Priceless Tony's competitors, so he didn't have much, but he did have close to a million dollars.
Mr. Britannia and his remaining staff members were packing up for the night, but they heard loud footsteps. Mr. Britannia walked closer to the door and saw the henchmen coming, so he said, "Oh dear." The henchmen burst in and punched Mr. Britannia to the ground.
Super Sorceress and Ninja Lady flew into the building. They faced the henchmen, while Super Sorceress said, "You guys better surrender."
The henchmen were surprised to see the superheroes, because Priceless Tony assured them that they probably wouldn't find them. One of the henchmen had a confused look on his face, while asking, "How did you find us?"
Ninja Lady smirked and said, "We used our amazing detective skills to search the country for the country's most vile henchmen."
Super Sorceress looked at her and sternly replied, "I told you that lying isn't okay."
Ninja Lady responded, "But they're bad guys."
Super Sorceress said, "Lying isn't okay, even if it's to bad guys."
Ninja Lady replied, "Fair enough."
One of the henchmen whispered, "I think I know how we can get Priceless Tony the money."
A different henchmen asked, "How?"
The henchmen whispered, "Some of us will battle the superheroes, while the others get the money." The rest of the henchmen agreed to the idea. About half of them started running to the superheroes, while the others started running to the safe.
Super Sorceress started blasting the henchmen, while saying, "Priceless Tony should forget about having henchmen, since we can easily stop them."
Ninja Lady replied, "Priceless Tony is the big bad, but that really means that he's a weak coward who doesn't have the guts to face us."
One of the henchmen tried to punch the two superheroes, while saying, "You shouldn't mock Priceless Tony. He's the best mob boss in the world."
Ninja Lady sarcastically replied, "Being the best mob boss is such an honor."
A henchmen frowned at the superheroes and responded, "You don't understand how much Priceless Tony means to the country. Even though you're superheroes, you could never be more iconic or important than him."
Super Sorceress blasted a few henchmen to the ground, while saying, "You don't seem to understand what's important. There are plenty of iconic people, but iconic and good are two different concepts. Being a popular, merchandised piece of media isn't what matters. Making positive differences to society is what matters." Ninja Lady overheard Super Sorceress and had a hard time disagreeing with her. She was starting to realize that doing what's right and saving the world was always better than being a famous, rich person.
Super Sorceress started blasting five henchmen at once, while Ninja Lady fought two at a time. Super Sorceress' superior and faster fighting skills often made Ninja Lady feel like she wasn't good enough to be Super Sorceress' partner. However, Super Sorceress was always eager to stop her partner from feeling that way, so she smiled at her and said, "You're the best."
Ninja Lady smiled back and replied, "You too."
After a few minutes of fighting, Super Sorceress and Ninja Lady defeated the henchmen. Ninja Lady said, "Well, it seems we're all done."
Super Sorceress shook her head and replied, "No, there's more henchmen. They've probably already made it to the bank vault. We better go stop them."
Ninja Lady replied, "Sheesh, Priceless Tony sure hires a lot of henchmen for each crime."
Super Sorceress started running to the bank vault, while saying, "That's because we can easily defeat all of his goons."
Super Sorceress and Ninja Lady ran to the vault location and saw a group of henchmen. They had already bagged up a bunch of money. Super Sorceress started walking closer to them, while saying, "If you want to be spared a lot of blasting, I suggest putting the money back in the vault."
One of the henchmen folded his arms and asked, "Do you really think we'd give up a robbery, because of a threat?"
Super Sorceress said, "I was just trying to end things on peaceful terms."
The henchmen giggled and replied, "How pathetic."
Super Sorceress smirked and responded, "Then let me show you something that isn't pathetic." She blasted the henchmen to the ground and asked, "Do you want to change your answer?"
The henchman said, "I'm not going to let silly blasts stop me." Super Sorceress blasted him again. The henchman passed out.
Super Sorceress started blasting the other henchmen and Ninja Lady also started blasting henchmen. One of the henchmen kicked Ninja Lady into a wall. Ninja Lady fell to the ground. The henchmen started getting his gun ready, but he got distracted by a big bag of money. He started digging through the bag and was impressed by how much money was in it.
Super Sorceress saw him and blasted him to the ground. She ran up to Ninja Lady and asked, "Are you okay?"
Ninja Lady stood up and said, "Yeah."
Super Sorceress replied, "That henchmen got close to hurting you. Thankfully, he got distracted by his own greed. Greed can become a real problem. It often starts out as a fun temptation, but it leads to big problems." Super Sorceress and Ninja used their blasting and karate abilities on the remaining henchmen. They called the police and used rope to tie up the henchmen.
A short time later, the police arrived and started taking the henchmen away. Super Sorceress and Ninja Lady looked around and saw Mr. Britannia. Super Sorceress walked up to him and said, "The money has been returned to the vault, so you can relax."
Mr. Britannia replied, "Yeah right. I'm a failure, when it comes to business."
Priceless Tony walked by and responded, "I agree with that sentiment." This was the first time that Super Sorceress and Ninja Lady had seen Tony. They both glared at him. Tony faced Mr. Britannia and said, "You've proven your lack of success. It's embarrassing how you couldn't protect your own company's vault. I suggest you let me take over your operation. It's the only responsible and dignified thing you could do, at this point."
Mr. Britannia sighed and replied, "You're right. You can become the new chairman of the company." Priceless Tony and Mr. Britannia shook hands.
Super Sorceress said, "Mr. Britannia, you can never agree to one of Priceless Tony's offers. After all, his henchmen were the ones who robbed you."
Priceless Tony had a smug smile on his face, while saying, "Super Sorceress and Ninja Lady, it's an honor to finally be in your presence. The cruel men, who robbed Mr. Britannia's place, have no connection to me."
Ninja Lady replied, "They had your initials on their jackets."
Priceless Tony responded, "I've been framed so many times, that nobody even bothers to take me to court."
Super Sorceress looked at Tony and said, "Don't pretend to be a good person. You're the most infamous mob boss in America."
Mr. Britannia replied, "It's not wise to mock Priceless Tony. He has a beloved reputation."
Super Sorceress responded, "I don't care about reputations. I care about justice."
Priceless Tony whispered to Super Sorceress, "The general public never has or will care about justice. They care about legacy, popularity, success, good looks, and money. I have all things, so you can count on me always being the big man around here."
Super Sorceress replied, "Your reputation is a fraud and your future will lead to you losing to justice." Priceless Tony frowned at her. He walked outside and started letting the paparazzi take pictures of him.
Super Sorceress and Ninja Lady walked outside. Marvin Big walked up to them. He had an excited look on his face, while saying, "I heard about you stopping over seventy bank robbers. That's quite the feat and we can market the heck out of it. Super Sorceress, I hope you've lost your ignorance and have agreed to my rich scheme."
Super Sorceress replied, "I'm sorry Mr. Big, but I still have no interest in it."
Marvin replied, "Okay then." He put his arm around Ninja Lady and said, "Your partner is still acting foolish. Thankfully, you still have the potential to make us rich. Stand up against your partner and agree to let me market you. I'm talking about cartoons, dolls, toys, and all of that money stuff."
Ninja Lady responded, "I appreciate the offer, but I've learned that greed leads to a lot of problems. My partner and I want to spread messages about justice and doing the right thing, not making tons of cash." The people, standing outside, overheard her, and started clapping.
Marvin was getting frustrated, because he felt the two superheroes didn't understand the importance of money. He asked, "Are you both crazy? Don't you understand that money is one of the most essential things of all time?!" The crowd booed Marvin. Marvin started walking away, while pushing paparazzi out of his way.
Priceless Tony walked up to Marvin and said, "You seem to have a great understanding of money's importance. Your talents could be very useful to me, because I'm trying to make my public image stronger. I must make sure that the public keeps loving me and keeps respecting my reputation. Would you be interested in working for me?"
Marvin jumped around. He had an excited look on his face, while saying, "Sounds great. I'm always eager to get more clients. The richer, the better." Priceless Tony and Marvin shook hands.
Super Sorceress and Ninja Lady looked at the crowd. The crowd started clapping. Super Sorceress looked at Ninja Lady and said, "It seems like we don't need fancy commercials to spread our goals."
Ninja Lady put her arm around Super Sorceress and replied, "Justice comes from doing what's right, not from doing what's marketable."
After the crowd walked away, Bleakness jumped out of the shadows and said, "You girls messed up, again."
Super Sorceress glared at him and asked, "What are you talking about?"
Bleakness replied, "You stopped the company robbery, but Priceless Tony got the company. In other words, you accomplished nothing."
Super Sorceress responded, "You're wrong about that. We gave the criminals justice, not vicious attacks. Because of that, this city is starting to get hope."
Bleakness replied, "Hope will be pointless and invalid, unless I can get to Tony and get rid of him."
Super Sorceress sternly said, "A real hero wouldn't destroy their arch-enemy."
Bleakness coldly replied, "I'm a real hero. You're just a softie."
Ninja Lady angrily responded, "You're a grumpy jerk and you don't understand what morality is." Bleakness snuck into the shadows.
After Bleakness left, Super Sorceress and Ninja Lady went back to their civilian identities, Natsuki Kuga and Shizuru Fujino. They started walking home, while holding hands. Natsuki said, "Bleakness still doesn't understand what morality is, but you do. I'm proud of you for rejecting Marvin Tall's money deal."
Shizuru replied, "It wasn't worth it. Spreading justice around is more important than playing with tons of cash. That one henchmen sure proved that. He could of attacked me, but his love for money distracted him. Money is important, but it's not the most important thing."
Natsuki asked, "What is the most important thing?"
Shizuru said, "You."
Natsuki blushed and replied, "Don't joke around."
Shizuru smiled and responded, "I do enjoy joking around, but I never joke, when I'm talking about how important you are to me."
Natsuki kissed Shizuru's cheek and replied, "Thank you. There's nobody I'd rather be partners with."
Natsuki looked at a nearby street and saw her neighbors cleaning up more and having more hopeful looks on their faces. They were small things, but it meant a lot to Natsuki. She was starting to realize how much the city was improving, thanks to her and Shizuru's positive influence. Shizuru asked, "What are you looking at?"
Natsuki said, "Justice." Shizuru didn't understand Natsuki, but she also had a feeling that brightness and true justice were on the way.
