Blind
I'm not stupid, just hopeful
I'm not naïve, just a dreamer
I'm not blind, but wonder if you are.
I watch you watch her, I wish I were blind
Yet I know you know I'm here
You just glance over me
I used to think of ways to get you to watch me
But I quit
I figure if you can't see me without aid
Then why suggest glasses?
It still kills me to know you don't see me
In the light you see her
But I know someday her light will go out
And mine will shine
By then your light will have died out
In my eyes
And you will wonder;
Is she blind?
The answer is no;
I'm not stupid, just learned from the best
I'm not naïve, just over you
I'm not blind, just see beyond you
