Phan one-shot
Dan Howell's cell phone rung. He smiled and looked at the caller ID. Phil Lester, the only man he had ever truly loved. He eagerly answered.
"Phil! How-" Dan was cut off by Phil's shaky-sounding voice.
"D-Dan...?" Dan frowned.
"Phil? Baby, what's wrong?"
"Dan..." Phil was noticeably taking quick, rapid breaths. "Dan." He said Dan's name like it was a one-word prayer.
"Phil. Come on. Tell me what's wrong." He glanced worriedly at his phone, which was shaking in his sweaty palms. "Where are you? I'll come and get you."
"No! Dan, you have to stay away." For the first time, Dan noticed an audible ticking in the background.
"Phil, where are you?!" Dan's voice was trembling and his heart was pounding.
"Somebody grabbed me on the street..." Phil sobbed into the phone that was being held to his ear by an unrecognisable man with a gun.
"Phil! I'm calling the police," Dan shouted.
"No! Don't hang up. Please, I need you. Please." He bit his lip and asked Phil a question.
"Just tell me where you are, please." Dan heard the unmistakable noise of a gun being loaded.
"I love you Dan. I always have and I always will. 'Bye."
"Phil! PHIL!" Dan screamed into the phone but the line was dead. He frantically looked around the room for something, anything that could help him, when he heard a gunshot from a couple blocks away. "Oh god." Dan jumped up and ran down the street until the came to a small, quiet alleyway. Dreading what he might see, he peered in, and saw a small form with black hair hunched over in the corner.
"PHIL!" Dan ran towards him, and pulled Phil into a tight embrace. He sighed with relief. Then, he noticed the blood. It was everywhere, all coming from a small wound in his chest. A small gun was nearby, but the culprit was nowhere to be found. Dan trembled in first shock, despair, then anguish.
"Phil..." Dan sobbed, holding his friend gently.
The police found two bodies in the alleyway that night. One was a small, happy looking young man with a black fringe and blue eyes. The other had brown hair, a somber face, and brown eyes. One was shot in the chest, the other in the head. Dan Howell was found with a note. It said nothing but two words: "Goodbye internet."
