Nothing like a glass of Wine

A/N I wrote this on a whim! Don't expect anything spectacular! not apprenticeshipping, just a bit of fluff with Mahad/Mana. Enjoy, and Review. Cheers!

Mahad was never really much of a wine drinker, and with a very good reason. Every time he tried to enjoy a drink to take the edge off the day, he always found himself in the same situation.

"Master Mahaaad! Can pleeeease have some wine?" asked Mana, in an innocent tone.

"No way, Mana" he said in an authorative tone. "Don't you remember what happened the last time I let you have some wine? You got drunk off your face and wound up casting a spell that made everyone in the vicinity grow fur and big bushy tails! It took me three days to sort out that mess."

"Oh yeah, oops!" she said with a sheepish grin. "But come on, Mahad, you know I was the only entertaining person at the party – I was the life and soul, everyone else was so...stiff. It's boring. Come on, please? I'll be careful, I promise." She had a pleading tone to her voice.

Mahad frowned – he really didn't want to give the girl the alcohol as he didn't want to have sort out another fiasco like last time - but he knew she was on the verge of breaking out the one thing that was almost always guaranteed to best him – the lost puppy dog eyes. His only weakness was big, green eyes looking at him sadly. Ah, there they were – those pleading, watery eyes that even the most hardened of hearts would find hard resisting – a poor, soft-hearted magician didn't stand a chance against them.

He sighed, his shoulders slumping in defeat. He had never been able to resist those pleading eyes, and he doubted he ever would. He grabbed an extra goblet, and poured some of the rich red liquid into it. Mana grinned widely, eagerly taking the cup once Mahad had filled it.

"Just one glass, though – knowing you you'll end up setting the whole city on fire"

"Hey!" she pouted, before raising the goblet to her mouth, drinking deeply.

As the girl drank greedily from the goblet, Mahad sighed, shaking his head "Why do I get the feeling I'm going to regret this?" he thought to himself.

The Next morning...

Mahad groaned loudly – he knew that giving that girl alcohol was going to come back and bite him on the ass. Ra alone knew how she had managed to conjure three hundred rats in the state she was in. But how she had done it was the least of his problems – figuring out how to undo it was the problem. See, every last one of the damn disease-infested vermin had escaped into the palace before Mahad could so much as grab his staff – now he had to go hunting around to find those damn creatures before they did any damage to the palace. He knew that this was going to be a loooong day.

A/N meh. It's crap. i know, but i don't care - i write for funsies! XD, Anyway, review if you want. Ciao xx
