Oh, well it was just brilliant, wasn't it, that Logan Smith was on the run again because that creepy family had seen him spying on them.
Of course, he'd been looking into their house and invading privacy, which he admitted was rude and impolite, but they were the only family in this street that didn't seem quite right. They were on Harune Road, a street that was filled with chatting and friendly neighbours and noise. But that strange family approved of none of it, and they preferred keeping hidden in their house. They socialised with nobody. The scariest thing about them, however, was their skin. It was so pale that the family looked ill. To be brutally honest, the family just scared Logan to death. And now, he was on the run from the family's kids. They were younger than Logan - him being fifteen, and them both being about ten by looks. But he knew that if the family sent those two twins after him then there was a good reason for it.
Finally, after about an hour of running around aimlessly, the twins had given up and gone back somewhere. Either that or they were preparing to jump out at him, so he kept his eyes in front. Unfortunately, he wasn't keeping his eyes behind him instead, and turned to see the fangs of a monster and blood-red eyes looking up at him. He shrieked, knowing that this was not fake, and ran like a maniac back to his house.--
(Written from Amy Pond's POV)
It was always a new adventure, as soon as you stepped inside the TARDIS. I knew this, of course, as would anyone else by this time. I'd been travelling with the Doctor for so long now that he'd just become expected. The Raggedy Man with his TARDIS, taking me off to see the universe. And this time, I was being thrust around in the TARDIS and my head was hitting everything. Ouch.
"Don't worry, we're landing her!" the Doctor informed me in an effort to drown my worries.
"Well, good to know, at least I'll only be stepping out with three bumps. Where are we landing?" I asked, and the look the Doctor gave me meant that I should cheer up.
"Err, an alternative universe. Not sure if it's hostile or not... It'll be fun to find out though!" the Doctor smirked.
"Just another day at the office, then," I sighed. And then the TARDIS landed with a thud, and I hit my head so hard that the last thing I heard was my name. Everything was black and silence after that.
I woke up to see a teenager and the Doctor stood together, looking down at Amy with worry. My eyes were squinted and I felt a headache coming on, but I could brave it. Unsure about the teenager who was offering his hand to me, I pulled myself up using my own hands and stumbled slightly.
"You look drunk," the teenager remarked. The Doctor glanced at him quickly before looking back to me. I just ignored the boy. Then, I realised there was a brick wall beside me and lent against that for support.
"Amy, this is Logan. Logan, Amy," the Doctor smiled proudly, gesturing to Amy, then to the teenager. The teenager called Logan looked to be about fifteen, with spiky, black hair. He looked like he'd been electrocuted. Inquisitive, I looked Logan up and down before looking back to the Doctor again, taking no interest in Logan.
Awkwardly, the Doctor continued on, "we're in Harune Road, in London. It's the year 2012. 15:35 PM, so we need to watch out for children who've finished school. Logan has just been telling me how there's something 'weird' going on right now."
This piqued my interest, so I asked, "weird? Show me."
An hour later, after finally getting permission from Logan's parents to come into their house, we sat down on the sofa and Logan turned on the TV. There were tons of different channels, none of which I recognised. I went to ask a question, then remembered that this was an alternative universe. Eventually, Logan found the news channel, and we waited a few moments before the news said something that definitely sounded weird.
"Recently, members of the public have been getting 'bite marks' on the side of their necks - some people have died due to this, and others have gone missing or returned to their friends and family only to give them the same mark. The government ask everyone to remain calm as they resolve if this is an infection or an illness," the news reporter said, all business. It was typical, too, that the government would appeal for calm and not actually do anything about it.
"I feel like my parents are hiding something from me," Logan muttered sadly.
"Why?" I asked.
"They told me to stay away from that creepy family and... I don't know. I can't remember much, but I remember running. I was running away from two twins because the creepy family sent them after me when they saw me spying on them. All I remember is running, and waking up here..." he had obviously had a traumatic experience, because he was now shaking and he had goosebumps. I was about to try and comfort him when I saw something red on his neck.
"Uhh, Doctor, look at this," I told the Doctor, my eyes fixated on the mark.
"What?" the Doctor asked, somewhat confused, then he came over to me and saw the mark. "Oh. Oh dear. Logan... what happened?"
Logan looked up at us like he was going to cry. "I... what? What is it?"
"You said you didn't remember it. Maybe you can't remember being bitten in the neck, then? And why are you so pale? Why are your eyes red? Oh, Doctor, of course, I wasn't paying attention! I should've just looked! You were bitten, Logan," the Doctor answered coldly, cursing himself for not paying attention whilst Logan stared in shock.
"So that's why I've been thirsty," Logan mumbled softly. He cast his eyes down at his hands and started scratching his leg to try and distract himself from the sudden shock of having a meal placed in front of him. I didn't know what to do now. Freak out, because he was obviously a vampire, or stick with the Doctor even if I was scared. The Doctor was my best chance here, so I stuck by him.
"Logan, can you get us in touch with the family you spoke to?" the Doctor asked, trying to ignore the fact that we were food to this fifteen-year-old boy. Uncertain, Logan nodded, then stood up and started walking, trying not to look at us.
Fifteen minutes later, we arrived at the family's house. The Doctor glanced back at us and waved, before telling me that I was going to wait here with Logan because it might be dangerous in the house. I wanted to point out that I wasn't much safer with Logan anyway, but the Doctor opened the door with his sonic and closed it before I could reply. Bored, I turned my back on Logan, looking around for any other vampires on patrol, or something like that. Suddenly, I felt Logan's hand grab my neck, and I felt his breath against me. He was going to bite me. Oh, dear lord, he was going to bite me. I went to scream, but his hand went to my mouth and covered it, and then I felt his fangs sink into my neck. Oh, so he'd bitten me now. But I wasn't going to be transformed into a vampire, because Logan was still going. Until, of course, with new strength, I pushed him away. That wasn't right. I wouldn't have been strong enough for that. I glared at Logan and he looked back at me apologetically, until he realised something.
"Hey, why are your eyes red? Oh. Uhh. I think I transformed you," he quickly told me, looking even more remorse.
"What?" I asked without amusement. Then I realised why I had so much strength and why I felt way better than before. I could cope with being a vampire, so I smiled at Logan anyway, and answering with, "it's okay, I like it," before coming to a resolution that smiling with vampire fangs probably looked really creepy and so I stopped.
A few more minutes later, and the Doctor walked out of the house. I was surprised he was in one piece. "Well," he sighed, "I'm not talking to them again." Then, he looked over at me and his eyes narrowed. "Amy, are you OK?"
I didn't know what to say at first. My throat was dry and I was so thirsty that all I wanted to do at that moment was rip the Doctor apart. But I also felt like throwing in some sarcasm, so I tried to ignore my desire to kill him and answered with, "yeah, I'm great at the moment. You gotta love standing out here with Edward."
"Don't think I haven't seen Twilight. Edward is a depressed guy. I'm not," Logan argued with the same vampire attitude I felt bubbling in me right now.
"That wasn't the case when I let you know you were a vampire," I retorted.
However, the Doctor was in no mood for jokes. He looked me in my red eyes and said, very quietly and solemnly, "who did this to you?"
I answered truthfully. "Logan."
The Doctor turned to Logan, his face suddenly cold and expressionless, and I knew that things were about to go crazy, so I started off the craziness by running at the Doctor and shoving him away from Logan. The Doctor fell onto the floor, and I noticed I had moved to him in amazing timing. So I had super-speed too now. Time to name myself the Flash, I thought as the Doctor pulled himself up.
"You're not going to threaten or hurt Logan. He did what's in vampire nature. Besides, he kept me alive. So what if I'm a vampire? It's cool. And I'm not dead, am I? Well, as in drop-dead. I'm not laying in a grave. So don't take this out on Logan. Now I don't care if you disapprove, but me and Logan are gonna go get some snacks whilst you sit around and do nothing whatsoever. Now, if you try to stop me, I will rip you apart piece by piece. I'm trying very hard not to do that right now. Goodbye, Doctor. Talk soon,' I snarled, a new hunger bubbling inside me. The Doctor didn't love me even though I loved him, and that was making me incredibly hungry.
'Please, Amy, you're not yourself,' the Doctor pleaded.
'Tough break, isn't it?' Logan smirked, joining in, and then me and him raced each other, our eyes wide open, just waiting to catch a glimpse of a human being.
