I just saw the sequel and, as a horror fan, I loved it - i adore ghost-stories and both films, as well as the book were wonderful. Hearing the small verse in the film inspired the rest of this poem. Please read, review and enjoy.
JENNET'S LAMENT
In the sleepy village of Crythin Gifford,
There is a curse the children fear.
In a house out by the marshes,
A mother's lament is clear.
Wherever she's seen
And whoever by,
One thing is certain:
A child shall die.
It matters not when or where,
For she was forever denied.
She'll take a child without worry,
However briefly she catches your eye.
