In the end

When Newt goes missing after having a rough night dealing with hard memories, will he be found safe and alive, or suffer a worse fate. I tried so hard And got so far But in the end It doesn't even matter I had to fall

Chapter 1

Thick stifling heat fills the night air as I find myself quietly trying to make my way to Newt. He's been up silently crying for awhile,not wanting to disturb the others I guess, but I just couldn't let this go on any longer. I make it over to him and crouch down beside him, "hey you OK"I ask quietly, "bloody-I'm fine Greenie go back to bed"he says shakily as if I startled him. "I know you've been up for awhile Newt, so your obviously not fine"I say in reply, "go back to bed shank, like I said before ,I'm fine, I'm just having a rough night,bad dreams"he says. "OK, do you want to talk about it"I ask, "No I'm fine, it's just memories of before, now for the last time go back to bed,I'm fine"he says, "k,well I'm here if you need anything"I say getting up and squeezing his shoulder. This time he actually accepts the touch instead of squirming away telling me that something is wrong with him and he's not saying anything about it.

I gently make my way back to bed lost in thought about what could be wrong, I know that he's been having bad dreams lately and that concerns me a little bit because from what I've heard from the other shanks, Newt started having bad dreams right around the time he attempted suicide the first time and wasn't able to be a runner anymore. But I also know that there really isn't anything I can do at the moment but let him get some sleep and make sure to keep a eye on him tomorrow. I crawl back underneath the covers and I start to get sleepy as I listen to the quietness and the even breathing of boys fast asleep

. Eventually I fall asleep my self and the next thing I know it's morning time, and we're all shuffling around getting ready. I look over to where Newt normally sleeps and he's not there, that worries me a bit, but there's also a possibility that maybe he went to breakfast early. I head to breakfast with everyone else and there's still no Newt and nobody else has seen him either. Having no choice I go out into the maze with the other runners after breakfast,hoping whatever has happened with Newt that he's safe and OK.
