i know, i havent uploaded in what seems to literally be forever, but i had this assignment for Comparative Mythologies, so i thought id upload it on here, enjoy it.

We had to make our own myth that explains something in the world, mine explains homosexuality ^_^.

The world was grand, and Zeus saw this, but what bothered Zeus was the fact that humans were reproducing like rodents., until not even Demeter's grain was enough to feed them. He decided to make mortals of the same sex fall in love so not many children were born and others could eat. He had his wife; Hera and Aphrodite together conceive a young daughter by the name of Promis. Like Athena, she was born fully grown. Wisps of red silk were her hair. Her eyes were a deep, rich, and earthly green. She wore a plain, white chiton, but strawn all over her as if by magic, were multiple rainbows that lit the sky.

Promis went to Earth, to convince the mortals to feel love for both sexes. Unfortunately, the mortals vehemently rejected the idea. Love the same gender where no children can be born? What kind of madness were the Gods enforcing about them? Promis, having not shown her true power, was not accepted immediately. She wandered ancient Greece for years until finally coming back to Mount Olympus where she rested and came across a goddess called Thetis. She had never felt so alive when she was around her, but, Thetis had a husband, Peleus. One night though, Thetis and Promis conceived a child to be known as Achilles, but he was passed of as the son of Peleus.

Promis knew Achilles would be alone, for he was her son and he would love only the members of his gender. Out of love, she created Patroclus, to whom Achilles would find a soul mate. Achilles became Sparta's great warrior so he was allowed to have any lover he pleased. When they were killed during the Trojan War without making the impact Promis sought, Promis went back into depression and wandered the Earth many years before coming across the princess of Epirus, Olympias. Promis looked upon the young woman and told her if she married Philip of Macedonia, she will bear a child, her child. Althought Philip would believe the child to be his, but she must tell the child, he is the son of Zeus. Olympias agreed and Promis made it so.

Alexander the Great was born. Once again, Promis held sorrow that her son would not have a companion in his honor, so she created another, known as Hephaestion, who would be his. And they were, but due to their status, both married different women and Promis's hope when up in flames. Stricken with grief, she consulted the oracle in Delphi.

The oracle told her of a young prince, who was unable to create children, so she visited him immediately. This young prince's name was Abrax. His inability to conceive children had caused him to give up the throne. Promis approached him and asked him if he desired the life she offered. He agreed. A man named Aison was made for him. The crowd had an uproar but eventually, seeing as it was connected to his happiness, they accepted it. Soon after, Promis spread her magic and many others fell in love with people of the same sex.

Promis was rewarded by Zeus for accomplishing the mission she set out to fulfill. Her reward was the love of her life, Thetis, when Peleus had passed. Promis held her new bride's hand within hers and smiled down upon the mortals. There would still be hatred for many, many years to come of what she created. She smiled though, for she knew it was just the beginning.

Hate it? Loved it? Review please, I worked really hard on this, and some critique would be nice
