This was originally posted on Tumblr for Lady Sybil Lives Week and accompanies a behind the scenes image from the show, which I attempted to make look like an older photograph. I made a few changes and corrections from the original.

London
10 June 1924

Arriving home earlier than usual, Tom entered the house to the sound of their new wireless playing. He shut the door and walked into the living room. He smiled at the sight that greeted him. His beautiful wife Sybil was lying on the couch reading a letter while listening to the wireless, her bare feet tapping to the music while her free hand rested on her rounded belly.

"Good afternoon, love," he said, alerting her to his presence.

Sybil looked up at him and smiled. "Hello." She glanced at the clock. "You're home early."

"I worked through lunch."

"Oh Tom! Please tell me you ate while you worked."

He playfully rolled his eyes. "Of course. I just wanted to get home and spend time with my girls." He looked around. "Where is Sybbie?"

Sybil smiled. "She's with mama. We went shopping for some maternity clothes today. I was exhausted afterwards and mama took it as an opportunity to abscond with her only granddaughter. She'll be sleeping over there tonight."

Tom chuckled. "I feel sorry for the nanny. Sybbie will run circles around her."

Sybil laughed. "Oh, I should give this to you to read. It's a letter from your mother. She will be coming to visit at the end of September."

"Looking forward to meeting her grandchildren I take it."

"Yes." She held out the letter for Tom to take. He grabbed it, lifted her legs, sat down, and placed her legs on his lap.

As he began to read the letter, he asked, What do you want for dinner?"

Sybil, opening a letter from Edith, began to answer, "I think some fish and chips from-Oh!"

Tom looked up, concern apparent on his face. "What's wrong, love?"

Sybil laughed in response. "Nothing's wrong, darling. Edith sent some photographs she took from our Easter visit."

She began going through the pictures, stopping at one of Tom and Sybbie. "Tom!"

He looked up startled. "What did I do?"

Sybil turned the picture around for her husband to see. "What are you doing in this picture?"

He looked at the photo for a moment and began to laugh. "I think it's obvious. I'm turning our daughter upside down. And as you can see, she loved it."

"You two. Always acting up whenever pictures need to be taken. What am I going to do with you two?"

Tom gave her his little half smirk smile. "Love us."

Sybil sighed. "I do, my love."
