Life had gone on, or was supposed to, wasn't it? It seemed like nothing could make him move on, make them move on. One of theirs was dead. Dead. With no way to see him again until they met death too.
George was hit worst of all, the one person he could always count on was dead, and nothing, nothing, would ever be the same, nor would he be able to move on. His other half was gone, Fred being the older twin, George was never without him, not even when they were first born.
George took to writing notes to his twin. Not all of them sad, some of them reminiscing, or talking about his wife, even telling him he named his son after him, and how he was just like him.
He's just like you, always looking for Trouble.

When George would leave them around the apartment or the shop, Angelina would find them, and pick them up, knowing her husband would probably want to see them again at some point. She pasted them into a photo album, along with pictures of them throughout Hogwarts. Maybe she could explain to her children, Fred and Roxanne why their father and her got so sad on his birthday, or May second.
I'm glad it was you, I wouldn't want you to hurt this badly. Everyone misses you, just imagine where we could be if you were still around. You were always the one with the ideas.

Sometimes Angelina would cry as she read them, reducing her to tears away from prying eyes as she filled the book with them.
Angelina is great, she gets it. I can count on her to be there and not runaway.
I know you asked her to the ball, but remember when we switched dates? She knew, and she was happy for it. She said you were like her big brother.
I'm thinking of proposing, Fred.
-G
When she read that one, a mixture of sadness and excitement spread through her. Not one thing he wrote was untrue, and whenever she was cross at her husband she would read it, reminding her of her husbands demons. No one in the war was unscathed.
That empty spot next to me was for you, just telling you, but I could feel you there. Everyone could. I think Mum cried harder than at Bill and Flur's wedding-I laughed. Is that bad? You'd still want me to try to joke around like always, wouldn't you?
-G
Mum called me Fred today, then burst into tears. I smiled, though, looking up and saying. "Honestly woman, you call yourself our mother?"
I still have a joke or two in me.

The letters got less sad as the years went on, turning happy in nearly a decade.
The kids are going to Hogwarts today, remember our first year? Yeah, it was great wasn't it? Getting the Marauder's Map and all. I think Fred and Roxie are going to have a lot of the same adventures. I hope at least.

Victore-Bill's eldest-is getting married! To Teddy Lupin too! I knew it was gonna happen Freddie, I KNEW IT! They're going to be wonderful, I can see Teddy standing up there...rainbow hair hopefully. Don't you think he'd look great like that? He sticks to teal though. What a boring guy! Everyone knows ginger is the new teal!

When Angela started reading those, she realized everything was going to be alright, and finally gave him the book she had been collecting for twelve years.
