I walked into a dimly lit but spacious room

White fur tickling the back of my ankles, as I saunter

Despite of the decoration's harmony

The humans were boisterous

Slender glasses clash back and forth

Then there was the consistent rustling of silk

Yet, all could hear my audacious heels send echoes

Off silver lined walls, specked with gold

The shoe's clicking hushes the crowd

They wait in anticipation

As I leisurely step onto the glittering platform

I gently closed my eyes

And mentally removed the cork on my memories

The smell of alcohol amalgamated with roses tickled my nostrils

Soon I lost balance and fell into a trance

The bodies below me transfigured into timid candles

That bears flames which cast dancing shadows

However, I only remember two silhouettes, yours and mine

I tend to disregard the silly patterns embroidered on our chairs

My mind intent on seeing your soft eyes gently piercing through mine, lovingly

Although, in reality my hands were empty

They still twitch by evocations

Of your balmy brown locks wrapped coyly around my slender fingers

Whenever that memory comes along, my mouth curls

The crowd usually questions my insanity by that point

Until the final image traps my senses

It's your face jerking in agony

Then your body and soul vanishing into his greedy palms

A warm trickling tear would then wake me up

My stifled cry dresses itself in quiet tones

Until the beat of my heart regains momentum

And my vocal chords dance instinctively

To pangs felt centuries ago
