The Indolent Spider
A poem by Beryl Bloodstone
He is quite handsome
Handsomely bland
Loved by one, hated by some
He is as appealing as sand
Surprisingly, he is not perfect
His rival often criticizes that fact
But he doesn't need the precision of an architect
To act as a butler with tact
How does anyone expect him to be interesting
When he is just a demon acting a part without any feel?
Going through the motions is all he is doing
Working for a payment that doubles as his meal
Apparently, he has no personality
At first glance, he is not at all an exciting bloke
But when faced with an opportunity
He'll become absolutely suffocating that one would choke
So be careful that you don't have anything this demon wants
He'll drink you up like cider
At your beck and call, he flaunts
Beware of the Indolent Spider
