This is just something I wrote for my English homework. It's a poem, summarizing the book To Kill a Mockingbird.

There is one line that doesn't rhyme, but I don't think it matters that much. At least to me it doesn't.

Often I sit and I think and I wonder

About the times when I was younger

When Dill came for summer fun

When Jem lost his pants trying to run

And the gifts in the knot of the old tree

The first day of school I fought Walter C.

And Miss. Maudie's house that caught on fire

The time Atticus made that old dog expire

When Aunt Alexandra came to stay

Had Jem and I in a state of dismay

The case that had the whole town talking

That everyone seemed to be mocking

And the mob that came to kill Tom one night

Was stopped by me and my insight

And the day of the trial everyone was there

But it seemed that things were quite unfair

Charged with guilt Tom left his prison

Only to find his death had arisen

And soon we forgot about the trial

When Jem took me to my pageant awhile

And on the way home we were being followed

Jem and the person had a good wallow

And the next thing I knew someone was carrying him home

So I ran after them so I wouldn't be alone

Jem was hurt with a broken arm

And Bob Ewell was dead from his own harm

The man who did it was none other than Boo

Who was much nicer than I ever knew

And taking him home that late night

I found out it takes a little insight

Atticus was right when he said months before

You never really know someone until you see things from their perspective

As I stood on the porch of the old Radley place

I watched the years pass by my face

And I finally understood what I didn't before

That everyone deserves kindness, understanding, sympathy and a little more

I really hope you all liked the poem! I worked so hard on this trying to find words that would rhyme and sentences that would make sense with the rhyming words.
