It wasn't often that Ryohei brought his work home with him.
Not his boxing. Ryohei took his boxing everywhere with him. It defined him. No, it was his other job, the one he couldn't talk about.
Haru was fine with that. He was away all the time and it was nice that he didn't spend his precious time with her doing more work. Besides, if she asked him about it, he would just stumble over his words trying to come up with some excuse.
He was cute, really, but one thing Sasagawa Ryohei wasn't was a good liar. Lies lead to problems and problems lead to regrets and regret was something the boxer simply didn't have the capacity for.
Haru knew that he worked for Tsuna and that he was a correspondent between his boss and the higher-ups in Italy. Well, that wasn't entirely true. Ryohei let it slip once that he held a rather high position himself, but he doesn't need to know that she caught that.
So when his cell phone went off during his greeting to her after his long trip back from Italy, she was surprised. Ryohei look perplexed, and pulled out his phone to see who was calling, keeping Haru in a one arm embrace. Upon seeing the name he immediately flipped it open.
"Sawada?" There was a pause.
"A transfer call from headquarters?" Another pause.
"Okay."
As his call was transferred Ryohei gave an irritated look toward the window. Haru just looked on curiously from his side.
After a few moments there was a loud click and a voice greeted the sun guardian. Though Haru shouldn't have been surprised, she was when the words that left her boyfriend's mouth were not his native tongue, but fluent Italian, she was perplexed.
Sure, he had grown out of the loud proclamations of his youth. Well, for the most part at least. He certainly didn't sound uneducated or impolite normally. He did, after all, graduate top of his class in middle school and high school. He even went to University, though neither Haru nor his family knew why considering his preference to boxing rather than academics. He was always polite and sensitive to women, something she loved about him, but this was something different.
It wasn't entirely the exotic sounding language that flowed like a song. It was the way he was saying it, with his natural confidence and charisma as if he was fully aware of their allure. When had her boyfriend become so charming?
In the middle of speaking Ryohei leaned down and silently pressed a quick kiss on Haru's cheek before breaking them out of the embrace and moving toward the living room. Haru followed, entranced
The kiss was simple and sweet, but with this new charming Ryohei speaking that song language it was downright romantic.
Haru held the sides of her reddening face and daydreamed about herself meeting a mysterious stranger Ryohei and having him sweep her off her feet as they danced on the wet sand of a private beach in the moonlight.
Ryohei hung up the phone and then turned to face his waiting girlfriend.
"Sorry about that Haru-chan. Things got extremely crazy back at work and I had to take this call. I…"
Ryohei stopped his apology when he saw that Haru was in her own little world. He recognized the hands on cheeks, red faced, starry-eyed pose easily.
"Oi, Haru-chan," he said more amusedly this time.
Haru seemed to snap out of her demeanor easily and she approached her boyfriend. His eyes softened as he looked down at her and an equally soft smile spread across his face.
"Haru, I…"
But he was cut off again, this time by the tiny kiss and nibble to his bottom lip. He half-smirked at this.
"So you missed me too, huh?"
Haru just moved her head up to meet his gaze, her eyes transfixed.
"Pants off. Now."
A/N: So I wrote this a million years ago and I told myself that I would not post any more of my old fic on ff, but there are none of this pairing and it makes me want to cry. Canon crushed my dreams, and there is nobody to keep my delusions alive.
