Remus stared at Lily's hair that moved gracefully in the wind.

"Lily," Remus hesitated. Lily turned around.

"What Remus? What?" She demanded, tears streaming down her cheeks. "He's trying to kill my husband, my child and I?"

"I would never let that happen," He said softly, reaching up to touch her cheek. She swiped the hand away.

"Why not?" She asked accusingly. He sighed and lit up the end of his wand with non - verbal magic so he could see her face in the dim street lights of Godric's hollow. The rain poured down on them but he took no hesitation this time.

"I love you," He whispered. She blushed slightly.

"Remus, this can't work ou-" Lily began, only to be interrupted by the taste of Remus' lips.

"Never mind James," She murmured, soaking up every second of her true love's kiss.
