Got some Wally/Dick bromance feels, with some angst! Really short, just to get something out :)

Inspired by Ready to Fall by Rise Against!

Wally's death weighed on his shoulders, on his mind. Richard Grayson became a shell, an emotionless copy of the once vibrant and happy young man he was a few months before. How could he go on without his best friend, the other half of himself?

The grief led him to the grimy rooftop he now stood on, overlooking Gotham City. Smoke rose in dark billows, the stars barely seen through the thin clouds. Wally didn't seem like a ghost or a stranger, he was alive, in Dick's mind, in his heart. He had begged any God that would listen to let him live, apparently God too, had left him, just like his parents had.

Wally always amazed him, though he would never tell him that. He was so fast, in perpetual motion. His image wouldn't focus, he was always a blur, even in Dick's mind. Wally was his shoulder to lean on, his infallible reason to live on, through all the stresses of life and residual grief of his parents' loss.

But life had gotten too difficult, Dick couldn't continue without his best friend, his speedster. His wings wouldn't take him and heights didn't faze him. He was ready to take a step, the final step. Standing on the rooftop, he was ready to fall.

He would take his final flight, to join his family and his best friend, after all, falling is just flying with a more permanent destination.
