The Story of Jumping Jim

Ever heard the story of Jumping Jim? No! Well that is just not acceptable! Jumping Jim lived on a ranch down in old Texas; he was a wonderful rancher and his mighty horse Wind-rider was the fastest horse in the entire world. Jumping Jim was tall and he looked exactly like a hero in an old western movie. Wind-rider was as black as midnight, at one point in time Jumping Jim thought of naming him that however that was such a stupid name he couldn't stand the thought of yelling it; so he decided on Wind-rider.

Now Jumping Jim worked for an old rancher named Old Bob. Old Bob waited to get married until he was practically prehistoric and only had one child; her name was Susanna and she was the prettiest girl in America.

HEY, don't get ahead of yourself reader! No Susanna was not in love with Jumping Jim; she loved Tad Drake and she thought at the time that Tad loved her.

Tad however loved the idea of owning the ranch and he loved the idea of being rich; so while scheming, he let poor, poor, Susanna fall deeper and deeper in love with him. When Jumping Jim heard of that he nearly had a cow. What he wanted to do was drag poor, poor, sweet Susanna away from that bad mean man and find her a nice man to fall in love with. However Jumping Jim, being smart, waited with that and went to Old Bob first.

Jumping Jimcould not believe what Bob told him! Old Bob said when he heard this that; and I quote "I think Tad just needs to spend some more time with Susanna and then he'll fall in love with her. He can't be that greedy."

Jumping Jim was shocked! How on earth could he not understand! Tad Drake was a bad, greedy, ugly man who couldn't stay with one girlfriend for a week! Needing backup Jumping Jim wrote an emergency letter to his brother Hopping Hugo about the situation and his need for reinforcement; he arrived within a week. Hopping Hugo was two times as dreamy as his brother and his brown mare Cougar was only second to Wind-rider in speed.

Hopping Hugo arrived just in time too! There had been an unusual amount of money disappearing from Old Bobs' accounts! The Brothers, with Old Bobs approval, decided to have a stakeout! As they sat there around midnight they caught the culprit red handed! It was Adam Schmandler, Tad Drake's right hand man! They knew Tad Drake was the real thief but sadly the brothers had no proof.

So they waited and after a few months the money started to disappear again; this time though there was no Adam Schmandler to be doing the evil acts. So once again with the approval of Old Bob the Brothers sat and waited.

Then there was a movement in the corner of Hugo's eye. Fast as a jack rabbit with a fox on its tail, Hopping Hugo lunged and took down the suspected robber. Much to their surprise the one in Hugo's headlock was Susanna!

"What are you doing out here at this time of night young lady?" questioned a very upset Jumping Jim; he thought of Susanna as a sister and did not like the idea of her stealing from her father. "What are you doing, and who is this? I was going to check on my dog that just had puppies and I'm under arrest!" screamed the indignant Susanna.

With an apology Hugo released the upset Susanna and just as they were all about to walk away, hey saw Tad Drake walking toward the door! With a yell of triumph Jumping Jim; Hopping Hugo was holding Susanna's hand, hogtied Tad and then they sent him to jail just like that.

Jumping Jim in the end married; (NO I ALLREADY TOLD YOU he was not in love with Susanna,) to a maid in Old Bobs' house named Abi.

No it is not spelled Abby; her name is technically Abigail so why on earth would it be shortened to Abby. Hopping Hugo however wooed Susana and she accepted his proposal. They all lived happily ever after. You know, except for Tad Drake, I don't know what happened to him
