Oh my god! I'm alive! It's crazy, I haven't been posting in years, and now I'm back. This is just a little drabble with no plot, but I wanted to write it anyway. I had to read Ender's Game for school and although I tell everyone I hate it, I love the story tremendously.

The characters belong to Orson Scott Card

It felt…strange. Petra couldn't shake off how…strange…it felt to look at the reassignment board, follow Bonzo's name with her finger, and end up at Cartagena, Spain. There were so many other possible assignments for him to have gone off to--Pre-Command, Tactical, etc.--and although Bonzo wasn't like Ender or Bean, he still had the potential to go pretty far. But instead, he just went home. Petra couldn't wrap her mind around the idea. You didn't just go home when you graduated. Those who graduated from this school went on to another school.

And especially after the fight. Ender made it out without any real injuries. He had beaten someone older, bigger, and more experienced and hadn't gotten hurt. When she thought about it, it made Petra happy Ender was on the human's side.

"He dead," some boy with no name and no face declared. Petra looked at him, just to find a regular thirteen-year-old veteran. He was probably one of the kids that followed Bonzo into the bathroom after Ender. "He dead because that Ender killed him."

"Ender can't kill our Bonzo," another face cried in indignation. "Beating him was enough a miracle. Couldn't a killed him too."

Petra nodded with the second voice. Like Dink, she had known the only thing that would have come to Ender in a fight with Bonzo was injury. She knew Dink tried to stop the fight, but when he came in, it was about to begin. "Naw, naw! Ender was egging him on," the first unknown boy cried back. "Ender egged him on and killed him."

He wouldn't do that, would he? Could he? Was that just something that was a part of Ender? And then, something clicked in her mind. Ender was going to lead the Earth's fleet against the buggers. Ender needed to be a killer. Ender had to be a killer. Ender was a killer. Petra felt sick. She left the reassignment board and jogged off to her commander's cabin. She was, for once, happy for the quiet and solitude it brought to her, because she cried. It was gross and unnecessary for her to cry over the realization. They were soldiers. They were training to destroy an entire race.

But we have a reason to kill the buggers, Petra.

No!

Yes, Petra, we do because they attacked us first and wish to kill us, but Ender killed when all he needed to do was injure.

No! Bonzo would killed Ender if he could.

Ender only needed to draw a little blood like in the battle room. Only enough to put the fear into him.

Petra sobbed. She hadn't even liked Bonzo that much--she remembered when Ender first came and he slapped her defending him--but he was a human. He was a human being with a mother, a father, and a life. He had a beating heart, that stopped beating because Ender made it stop. Bonzo wasn't a bugger bent on the Earth's destruction. He was a fellow student and her former commander, and now he was dead.

Because of Ender. That day, Petra lost a small portion of her strength and belief in the system, for Bonzo's loss.
