"My Last Memory"

My heart aches,

And I feel like I can heave;

I can't believe that happened,

I can't believe it happened to me.

I hardlt remember anything,

It still hurts to much,

And as the days continue by,

The pain is getting worse.

I remember fire

And the smell of food,

And I remember the circle

That I had to stumble into.

I can clearly see the faces,

The savages, those beasts

And then I remember, they were boys,

Boys who were like me.

That was my last memory,

The spears and the throng of boys,

And the words from their chant:

"Kill the beast! Cut his throat!" and finally

"Spill his blood"

They once were my allies;

My partners in crime,

And now they forever more will by my enemy,

The trust of friendship gone.

Now forever my should is stranded here,

While the savage ones go home,

For my view of life is bitter,

My future story untold.
