Disclaimer: Not mine
Notes: After reading some truly awful Mack/Rose fics (I refuse to call them Rock, or Macrose, or whatever stupid name compression term is in vogue right now), I decided to give it a try, and it turns out to be my 300th fic. My 300th fic is something I don't really like as a pairing. Go figure.

Rose had finally met someone who read as much as her.Of, course, Mack would hardly be considered well-read by her old teachers-- The Baron's Revenge wasn't going to show up on the required reading list for any Classic Literature classes anytime soon-- but if there was one thing being a Power Ranger had taught her, it was that not everything had to be approved by a teacher. And it was obvious that Mack had just as much passion about his adventure novels as she did about Byron or Shelley.
She had wanted to talk to him about those adventure stories he was so fond of, learn why he loved them so dearly, and so Rose had 'borrowed' his copy of The Baron's Revenge one day while Mack was out with Ronny... and couldn't get through the first chapter. She fought evil monsters in pink spandex, but even she could only suspend her sense of disbelief so far.
But being a Power Ranger had also taught her to think on her feet, Rose reminded herself as she slipped her favorite copy of Byron's poetry in the stack of Mack's comic books and adventure novels. If all goes as planned, he'll develop a love for it and want to discuss it with her-- and if not, he'll come to ask what exactly it is and she'll be happy to explain it to him.
Because either way, she'll be discussing a mutual passion with a friend.
