The "Great War" lasted only one day, but changed the world forever. October 23rd 2077 worldwide devastation. The war only lasted 24 hours but our world was contaminated beyond repair. In 2130 our great Diamond City was founded, and we began life anew. And many rumors circulate in and out of our fair city.
Many people come and go. But one thing remains constant. My search for the truth. And the truth of the Fens Street Phantom must be long and storied. A recording surfaced recently that may shed new light on this mystery. A recording that peaked my interest in what lies below the Fens Street sewer cover. In this recording a man speaks to a detective and invites him to "view" his work. The entirety of the message follows…
" Here we are Detective. If you followed my instructions … you're alone. And well.. If you're not..I've already left. You BETTER be alone… well come on in. I've put my work on display down here, and I'd very much like you to see it.."
As this mysterious figure is thought to be hiding in the Fens Street Sewer where the recording was found, the title Fens Street Phantom seemed appropriate. Not to mention what the man who brought me the recording said he saw near where the tape was found. Just inside the sewer cover he found a shrine of sorts. Remnants of some poor soul who had been affixed to the wall upside down. That's right, a skeleton ! And one X written in chalk. Without further information one could only guess the significance of that marking. Is this the first of many bodies down there? Is a maniac on the loose? Only time will tell. And what of the number one affixed to the recording? Are there more?
Again only time will tell. I must find someone willing to delve further into this mystery or be forced to follow up myself. The man who brought the first recording has disappeared. Either foul play or an unwillingness to return to the sewer. I will find the answers somehow…
