Another original Thomas story, this time it's "Learning from Duck" Enjoy and comment.
It was another glorious day on the Island of Sodor, and Duck was on his way to Brendam Docks.
When Duck arrived at the docks, Sir Topham Hatt was waiting for him. He had a special job for him.
"I want you to work with Max and Monty today." he said. "They can be a bit troublesome at time, so please make sure that they behave."
"Yes sir!" said Duck as he puffed away.
When Duck arrived at the construction yard, Miss Jenny was there, along with Max and Monty.
Max and Monty were groaning, but Miss Jenny was pleased to see Duck.
"Hello Duck!" said Miss Jenny. "Are you here to work with Max and Monty?"
"Yes I am." said Duck.
Duck was a bit concerned that Max and Monty were going to cause trouble.
Then, Miss Jenny turned to Max and Monty.
"I really hope Duck can teach you to behave, so please work well with him."
"We will!" said the two.
When they arrived back at Brendam Docks, Thomas was there.
The dock manager came to see them.
"I need Max and Monty to deliver some ballast to Harwick Station." he said. "Please be very careful, as our supply is very low."
Workmen began loading Max and Monty with loads of ballast.
"Please behave yourselves." said Duck to Max and Monty. "I don't want any of us to get in trouble."
But Max and Monty weren't listening.
"Be careful." warned Thomas. "They are known to cause trouble."
Duck sighed.
"I hope we don't get into any."
Finally, the workmen had loaded all the ballast onto Max and Monty.
But then, it happened. Max and Monty roared off at warp speed!
"They're up to no good again!" said Thomas.
"Leave it to me!" said Duck and he raced away to find Max and Monty.
Max and Monty were roaring down the roads at warp speed, not paying attention to themselves.
Just then, they came to a crossing with a red light.
Edward was about to pass through.
But Max and Monty ignored the red light, and shot straight though!
Meanwhile, Duck began gaining sight of Max and Monty.
"Go faster Duck!" called his driver.
In no time, they were right in front of Max and Monty.
"Stop this nonsense!" snapped Duck. "You know better than that!"
The two laughed.
"You're just a green duck on wheels!" teased Max.
"A rubbish to the railway!" said Monty.
Duck was horrified!
"You better stop this!" snapped Duck.
But the two roared off once more!
"Let's get them before they cause even more trouble!" called Duck's driver.
And they set off again.
Max and Monty were having a wonderful time.
"What a green fussy duck!" said Max.
"He is indeed rubbish!" said Monty.
The two laughed and laughed, until, they noticed a huge hole in the road!
Their operators applied the brakes, but it was too late.
Max and Monty suffered flat tires!
Duck soon puffed up.
"I knew you two were going to cause trouble!" he laughed.
Max and Monty sneered, but there was worse to come.
When Miss Jenny arrived, she was crosser than ever.
"Teasing other engines will not be tolerated!" she said sternly. "And because of what you've done, now the ballast won't be delivered on time!"
Duck had an idea.
"I'll take the ballast!" he exclaimed.
"Perfect idea!" said Miss Jenny.
Soon, the ballast was loaded on Duck's flatbeds, and Thomas came to take Max and Monty away.
Max and Monty were embarrassed.
"This is all your fault!" sneered Max.
"No, it's your fault!" shouted Monty.
All Duck could do, was try not to laugh.
